a) dmg reduce % is capped at 50%. so anything over that is a waste.
b) even if 100% would be possible, any form of magic damage could still harm you because dmg reduce % is applied only to physical attacks.

I believe in 1.09 75% was the limit for monsters and dueling, but if you reached 100%+ you would have 75% damage reduce and be immune to Amplify Damage.

Not to mention that almost all classes of conventional duelers nowadays are casters. As I've found, melee characters are few and far apart nowadays, especially in pubbies. The typical duel game I go into has 2-4 bone necros, a mage pally of some sort, and a blend of Sorceress/Druids for the rest. Ocassionally you'll find a CS zon, Bowazon, Smiter, or WW barb, though these are far less frequent.

trappers are pretty common too.

Yep. 100%Dmg Reduced means your immortal to melee dmg but the cap is at 50% Im afraid.

OH yes, of course, not to mention that stamina potions stop you from taking any damage for 17 seconds :D

Damage reduction only applies to physical damage. If you did have 100% DR, you would be immortal as far as characters that rely on physical damage go, but DR is capped at 50%.

Are you serious? Because someone else mentioned that but no one believed him because his posts are kind of...

I really doubt that.

Yes, I meant that in complete sarcasm (I kind of hoped that the smiley was self-explanitory..)

The whole reason I said that was because of that dolt. Simply a tribute to his unrivalled mastery of.... flying pigs.
