Resists on a Dual-Whirler?

I have my dual-whirler barbarian up to level 85 now. I'm extremely proud of the results, as I have not died in PvP once yet. Not once! I'm constantly owning many pubbies and seem to have no trouble with almost all of the frequent builds. Except....

My resists in hell are laughable. I have -5 fire, 2 cold, 4 lightning and 27 poison :xtongue:

I need help. How can I possibly get decent resists without dropping my good gear? I'm using double BotD (I know, I know, I should be using best instead but I can't get for some reason....), Dusk Enigma, .08 Vamp gaze, Steelrends, Gore Riders, Raven Frost, Highlords ammy, and Gore riders. My belts are constantly switched between either TGods Vigor, or Perf string of ears.

What do I need to get better resists? I find myself taking 4k damage at a time from sorcs, which is not a good thing I believe.... What do I switch out?

Maybe you could switch your Vamp Gaze with a Crown of Ages? It could add 30 to all and has 2 sockets for Bers or Ums. You could also change a few charms for life/res.

The only option if you do not want to change your gear is to change/add res charms. And since DR does not matter vs sorc maybe replace the gaze with an arreats when dueling them.

Good idea Badly Drawn Boi..... The only real reason that I use the Vamp Gaze is for the PDR (25%), and that is useless against the people I'd need resist for anyways. Thanks.

Crown of Ages probbaly would be your best choice, with the resists, and 10-15% PDR. If you wanted more PDR you could just Ber Ber the Crown Of Ages.

2) Use Kira's Guardian
3) Use Silence + Botd, and use Arachnids + caster rings for fcr.

PS: I Think using beast with botd is better than 2xbotds.

If you search through his posts, you can see he linked to another site/forum about diablo, which results in a ban (not sure if its temp or perm ban)

Boots+caster rings are the best ways to get resist.
Also resist boots are useful as well, some providing about 40ish resist all.
Switching your ammy to an maras may help also.

Arreat/CoA and some rezist charms. I have a similar barb with max rez in hell due to charmory. :xcool:

There is no way that you can get me to drop one of my EboTDs for a Wiz spike. The crown of ages is a good idea, but wiz spike was only usable for my old Sheild/Axe whirler instead of the shield (useless vs casters).

And yes, as I've already said, I know that Beast+BotD is better than 2x BotD, but I'm just too lazy to go around trading :P

Everyone pretty much nailed it with what you could use to help your resists.

resist boots
using 2x caster rings with res (in conjunction with an arachnid)
small charms with res
possibly switching to mara's
arreats/coa (I keep both on hand and you don't always need dr as much in pubs as you might think so arreat's res+other mods are always nice.)

If you need to cover a high cold mastery or conviction, a 160 cold/light monarch usually cures that.

Against casters blocking does nothing for you; wizardspike gives you 75 all resists, 50% faster cast for teleporting, a ton of mana, and 50% more hit chances with whirlwind. The um in it is for the open wounds, which is more or less the biggest killer a barb has in pvp.

Also if you don't want to use a wizzy, but still need stacked resist,
use Silence Zerker. Only disadvantage is the fcr, which is not necessary to beat casters, but sometimes it just makes it alot easier to tele at 8 or 9 frames.

No, the thing isn't that I don't want to use Wiz spike, its that I don't want to give up one of my EBotD zerk axes for some other weapon when whirling. Thanks for all the advice so far though.
