i see that fortitude give 300%ed (dmg!) thats amazing, this armor will be the best bvb ww armor? or there is still better armors?
i'm wondering, too. any details on how exactly this kind of ed is calculated? i'm pretty disappointed with my steelrends (43ed) since the dmg increase is just 150 average (2 handed whirlzerker with 6500 dmg).
so fortitude would grant ~6 time that much damage which equals to ~900 dmg in my case. well nice but other armors offer cool(er?) stats, too.

That's weird,my 54% rends add about 400-500 dmg on my ebotd zerk barb.

The dmg of fortitude or any atehr dmg is added to the dmg on your weappon,, so if u have a botd with 400ed, with fortitud is like haveing 700ed on botd,, and that should be something like 1.5k dmg added to the dmg, depending on what skill u use.

so if i use eth dc 273% and i got with him 3.2k (230 str) how much dmg i will get if i use fortitude armor?

It is added more like skill damage. So, if you have like a 400ed botd, with a lvl 20 berserk fully syn. (1035%). Having fortitude armore is like having a botd 400% and a berserk with 1335%.
STOP GIVING BAD INFORMATION.
No unrealized you won't have more strength, he said the damage boost was LIKE adding strength. This is only partially correct, not all weapons receive a 1% damage bonus from 1 strength. Maces get 1.1%, Daggers get 0.75%, Throwing weapons get 0.75% (though the latter two also get 0.75% from dex.) So the comparison is ultimately flawed.
combatman you're full of s, non weapon ED is included in the FINAL damage calculation, NOT the WEAPON DAMAGE calculation.

Go read this if you still have questions: *link to tommis d2 page* Well i was fully correct for what was asked :)
initial poster is bvb and no bvb char uses any non-standard str bonus weapons and riplix i am pretty sure uses a polearm.
Anyway, its not 'maces' that get 1.1 str bonus, its hammers a subclass of the mace class.
On the topic of fortitude being the best bvb armor, I'd still take duress over it anyday because OW is what will ulitimately win you more duels since in bvb, there are few hits between 2 people with high def and life.
I have both duress and fortitude, with duress i have 118% ow and with fortitude i have 85% ow, so either way it is triggering very often. I find fortitude to be superior in all duels not requireing tele, even then i am half tempted to find a decent tele ammy :)
----If you have low ow as is now then the duress may be a good option, but it is still better if you get a slightly low dmg weapon with better mods and switch to fortitude, your final dmg will usually be equal and you can make up for the lower ow in armor with more flexibility in weapon. also against non-barb mellee chars the considerable extra dmg drops ppl much faster.
----srry i dont have an hard #'s to back this up, this is just me testing with friends and pubs, i usually duel a couple rounds against a given person with duress, then with fortitude and it ends up strongly in fortitudes favor

On paper, fort has knocked duress out of contention,300% ed is quite a lot with botd/grief/oath,this also means we will hardly see fury & kingslayer weapons in bvb.Beast will survive though,as the ar boost from fana is pretty effective with ow setup. For other builds,I'd take fort over duress anyday.

I thought about the tele ammy too.. or even a tele circlet.. But it seems that you cant get more than 28 or so charges, which just isn't enough for battles versus good necros.
Being too mindful of the number of teleports you're doing would be a far more crippling disadvantage than ~200%ED (diff between enigma str/skill boost and 300% from fortitude), 25fcr, resists from fortitude over engima, also the lack of STR on fortitude makes a mess of any high VIT aspirations.

regarding BvC, enigma is still very usefull, if not a must. fortitude comes in the picture vs smiters and other, more melee oponnents. If it can't/doesn't tele-slap a forty and *****slap it!!!

yup, whole new world has been unleashed! i'm still dwelling on possible setups vs specific opponents, have a few finished but i still feel a bit disoriented.
still i'd never use eth dc, don't get me wrong it is an AWESOME weapon, but i feel it doesn't give as much vs specific opponents as some, even lesser weapons.
