View Full Version : Help with lightning javazon
Ok, so i have my LF maxed, Cs maxed, Ls has a bunch of points but not maxed, my LF is level 37 1-2002 dmg ,all pre-req's with a point, with all my +skills my valk is lvl 20, my pierce is 1 point, let the +skills take care of the rest, but when i run into a pack of LI i have to run, which i would prefer not to do, as i want to kill everything in my path by any means necessary so this is my question.
im currently level 74, with 2 points still to use, and by the time i hit 90 i will have about 18 points in total to use, so i was thinking about using hellrack on a switch with 2x shael, due to the ed and fire/cold dmg it adds, and just dropping all remaining points into guided arrow?
is this just wrong and a waste of my time or will it work? (with LI's)
my setup is this:
shako
enigma
2x soj
titans
lidless shield
tgods
some pair of gloves with duel leech and +1 to passive
mara's
anni charm
this is my first javazon and so far she is opening up kegs of whoopass all over the place (except on LI's)
:xgift:
My favorite for LI's is a Witchwild String and Strafe (or its level 20 Magic Arrow normal attack).

I have not tested using a bow/xbow as weapon switch yet on my Javazon. I can offer you a different advice though...
You see, I prefer my Javazon to be a pure javelin thrower, thus I do not have bows/xbows for weapon switch. I managed to get a Tiamat's Rebuke for my Furyzon and the additional elemental damage wrought by the shield somehow manages to take care of the lightning immunes. It might be a while before you can get or trade for one, but once you do, you might try using it.
In dealing with LIs, you can create an attack by running or backing away from a pack. I often use this "back-and-attack" tactic:
1. I cast a decoy right in front of my Amazon then run in the opposite direction of the approaching pack. This way they will attack the decoy, not my character.
2. I sometimes cast Inner Sight to lessen the enemy's defense. You can skip this if this does not fit your style.
3. Switch to regular throwing attacks, relying on Critical Strike, Pierce, and other non-Lightining based attack mods. <Here is where Tiamat's Rebuke helps a lot! ^_^>
4. Allow my merc and Valk help in killing. When the merc is low on life, I give him a potion. When the Valk is low on life or has already vanished, I recast a new Valk.
5. If the merc and/or Valk seems overwhelmed by enemies, I cast a Decoy in the middle of the melee. This confuses the enemy, distributing their attack on three separate targets rather than just one. Let them take the hits instead of your character.
This is not a direct solution to your question, but I hope this helps since you are concerned more about how to deal with the LIs.

If you can afford it, this would be nice solution (see thread) !

Add a faceted Light Griffons and Dream Shield for HS aura so so you have -LR of monsters both from Conv and Griff (-LR from Inf will not count to your damage !!).
Also, Conv and LR both stack, so if you have on swich wand with LR charges, cast it and then swich to Java again ! In few sec Conviction will be activated and then LF the LI¨s
Gd luck !

I personally think that people tend to underestimate the Lightning/Poion hybrid route.
Anyone in here will agree that Lightning Fury can kill well enough on its own, and Charged Strike is really only needed for leftovers that LF doesn't take care of.
Well, seeing how you only spent about 30 points to get your maxed LF, and that is basically all the lightning damage you need, why not add another cheap damage source?
With my javazon, I maxed LF, then maxed out Plague and Poison javs to help me with Lightning Immunes, and to weaken groups before I start chucking LFs at them. While the damage isn't skyhigh, it's still enough to take down cows pretty quickly, and it's a huge help against Lightning Immune cows (not the King of course  ).
I find that one point in Jab, my upgraded non-eth Titans, and my Valkyrie and Might merc with a Reaper's Toll is more than enough for just about any lightning immunes.
I recently found a Tiamat's Rebuke. Thinking about trying to get a Demon's Arch and using that along with the Tiamat's on switch with Jab to speed things up.
