Decided to try a jabber as my 1st step.... lvl 18
1st night out - not much going on... did go up against a lvl 31 ww druid. We were standing toe 2 toe... but I ran out of juvs... killed his merc 1st, then went for the OS... but he just kept recasting. It was a decent start.
2nd night, found a Ancients game... went hostile - found the path into Summit and the ancients were out n about. There was a sorc n pally there... almost got the pally, but since my dmg was still low (was using a 10 IAS rare w/ 26 ed - 5 max) - he just exited.
3rd night, actually got 2 fight against a lvl 15 charger, he happen'd 2 be pking as well... and I just happened to be there. :jig: I gladly obliged and went into Rouge and started our dance... with a faster wep (20 IAS - w/ 25 ED) I did most of the dmg.... making him flux a total of 4x. Ya I know he was 3 lvls lower than me, but he was a pker himself.... so imo it was fair.
Gear is the standard as per Barry's guide.
Angelics + Deaths
44 max / 17 ed Mask
15 max Twitch
30 max BSOD w/ 8 light rez
CK
currently using 20 IAS / 35 ED throw spear.
life is only 751 (vit + charms)
total dmg is 41-265 (44 pvp)
I know I need a better wep w/ some extra elem dmg.

Well i got my 1st duel ear - a lvl 28 pally... w/ sigs - twitch....
there was his "new" friend a lvl 76 baba - watching and he forgot 2 loot him... I looted him, just for the hell of it...
It was around 3 rounds - he didn't chicken, just ran into town.... on the 3rd jaunt, he started heading for town again... but I guess he didn't quite make it. OOOOPSSS :strong:

Did you trow him with spear?^^
When i played with jabber also lvl 18, they got very frustrated when they cant get any hits to me and i jab happily ^^
How much charms you got in inventory? i had about 850-1k life when i played her in last season. twinked a bit by bit her it was fun :)

Your life is not at all bad for a level 18 IMO. Of course it could be better, but its nothing to be too worried about at this point. Nice job on the ear as well!
(you said your hat was an ed/max'd one? that could be one problem with your damage, ed/max is bugged in hats, a plain max dmg one would add far more damage than an ed/max one)
If you meant enhanced DEFENSE, my bad, but if its enhanced damage//max dmg, you might want to change hats.

Enchanced defense cannot reach higher than 15%. So it's an unfortunately socket.
Life seems fine for a level 18. Damage seems low. Aside from the bugged helm issue, you may also considering:
1) use an ethereal imbue (throwing spear or war javelin), even if it does not replenish;
2) swap out a few life charms to fine grand of something;
3) go to level 21 and use sharp charms. This also means you have more points at your disposal to put into critical strike.
The relevant jab bp here is 65. 10 IAS won't help. Either go with one with 20 IAS when you are dueling faster attacking class (sin, zealot, fury wolf, maul bear, other jabber, etc.) or go with the highest damage javelin that you can get your hands on when you are out PKing regardless of IAS.

-Arto- Actually I ran after him... I didn't even think of throwing even though it's cue'd on the left attack.
a variety of 9-15 life scs... but mostly 10's
aside from the 1-2 cold / 6 max stam sc
some small light dmg
and 2 5 max's GC's
Yeah, I'd say go to 21 as well, 18 chargers will still duel you, and you can be more flexible between life and damage by mixing up the charms as you like.
