I finaly found an Ist, and I'm thinking of making delirium for my merc. The objective is monsters being cursed with confuse. I have connection problems, and whatever makes enemies not hit me when I'm dropping from a game or standing still while having a not so severe lag spike would help.

I have used that cap before, and it worked fine. However, it requires and Ist (duh) wich everyone knows is quite expensive. I wanted to know if any of you would have a different idea that could be as effective. I've thought about Reaper's, but I already got Doom (again for slowing monsters while I'm lagging) and it has similar effect.

Note that I'm worried about me, not the hireling. He's being paid already, damn no-honnor merceries!

if the reason if for protection id choose the fastest weapon that has decent damage you can find. and dont be suprised when you see a little stygian doll running around killing things.

you have a weapon with ohm lo and cham runes in it and you're calling ist expensive?

Why not just get a holy freeze merc (for slow) using reapers (for more slow) and then have him wear delerium (mind blast, confuse, terror) as well as eth gloom runeword armor (dim vision)?

He would be the curse casting master, all of which would be helpful for keeping the bad guys off of you.

Of course, you could always just make a really strong character that can stand in packs of monsters without lots of damage and survive anytime you get lag/connection loss.

If you were calling doombringer doom, then a barb merc with that sword, delerium +3 bo helm (barb mercs can wear barb only helms) and gloom would be cool.

As for slowing I had thought about that, but it doesn't work on death lords, the guys I fear the most. Casters like hell witches don't seem to worry too much about auras either. Also I use two weapos for faster WW. They kick my *** bad if the doesn't tank well or dies.

id think if you wanna stay safe just get a shield and resists higher dont worry about packing up your merc because he wont do near as much to affect your safety in lag as a shield would.
