View Full Version : Potion Concern...

I've got a couple of concerns in my single player game. First of all, if I have items (weapons, armor, gems, jewels, but mostly potions) on the ground, and I'm away from town for awhile, when I get back, they are all gone! Whats up with that? Does this happen to anyone else? It sure sucks when I have a bunch of full rejuvs laying there, waiting for me to use when I go see the Ancients! I've found that if I visit town pretty frequently, my potions don't dissappear :xsmile4:

Second, from everything that I've read, you can't gamble for set items. Just yesterday, I was gambling, and found one! I don't remember what it was, but I think it was Sazabi's Cobalt Redeemer. Anyone have some input on gambling for set items? :xmad:

You most definitely CAN gamble for set items. As far a the potions, the game runs a clean up routine every so often - you might have noticed it out in the field too if you come back to an old battle site later, the potions are gone. I always thought it didn't affect items other than potions, but I could be wrong.

All items have a time limit before they are 'gone' if i remember correctly.

And it applies in town.

What happened to using the stash ? :P

edit: apologies, not all items, just potions (keys?) scrolls and the such.

basically, if you read the info here at diabloii.net, it's probably out of date, since the most of the site hasn't been up to date since 1.09, so you now can gamble sets and uniques too, and i think that it is a ~20 min time till your stuff dissapear if you don't see it, longer ofr magics, unis and sets... but just press "esc" once to stop the game doing anything...

There was a discussion here the other day about leaving items laying around, and the answer was two part IIRC.

1) items will dissapear after so much time, the rarer the item, the longer it will stay around

2) why are you leaving stuff on the ground? If your stash is full, Save and ATMA that stuff off.

Not sure on gambling, I've probably spent ten million gambling rings and ammys and have never gotten a unique or set.

Believe me, I am using my stash...usually it is full of gems or runes though! :xsmile5:

ATMA is a new found savior for me. I didn't know about it before a couple of days ago!

I usually just pick up flawless and perfect gems in the game (when they start dropping that is) and cube them until i have a full set of perfect gems in my stash, then i dont bother with picking up more. Runes i mule off at first saveable chance if there good ones.
You should'nt ever need to leave stuff on the ground once you use ATMA, as every time you save and exit, you can move the items to your ATMA stash, and delete them from the in game stash.

I don't know how often you guys close your games out, but I usually don't close it out for at least an act, usually 2 or 3 acts. Maybe just the noob that I am! :xdrunk:

Yet another example of my newness to all this...what is IIRC?

I just recently gambled a Highlord's Wrath ... and i've also gambled some Nagels and Mahim Oak Curio as well as other stuff. I'm still looking for that SoJ.

So, it's possible ... just not very likely. I've gambled probably 30-40 million at least within a relatively short period of time.

That's a nice study, I suppose it's been tested to be the same in SP? It isn't a major item for me as I'm a hopeless ATMA stasher. I'm getting better though I swear, I don't keep all items anymore, just runes, gems, charms, jewels, uniques, cool stuff and 'big purples'. I have over 400 of them. Why? I don't know. I guess one day I'll just be a purple potion pusher.

/btw, anybody need a few hundred really crappy charms? anybody? :xmad:

The main point is Don't leave anything on the ground you really want. If you are keeping all runes and gems you can quickly run out of space. I guess keeping low level runes may be more desirable in 1.10 but you would have to cube forever for anything worthwhile.
