Trav Runner - Input Needed

RIP LvL 82 Zealot death due to Geleb FE + Amp + ???

I extemely enjoy running hell tranicials/temples and this zealot leveled from 74 to 82 doing nothing but these runs. Felt 100% safe with until the deeds popped up.

Love the upclose and personal combat of diablo and prefer them to casting spells so here are my thoughts.

Rebuild Options:

# 1 Wolf with max oak and fury - thinking that if Geleb FE's me again I will at least have time to use juvies while shifting from wolf back to human form. Gear would be Jalals + Ik Set minues the IK helm.

# 2 Frenzy barb that is lvl 73 right now but was built for running NM Travs/Temples/LK Chest popping and I prefer to keep him in that role.

# 3 Go with a Bone necro with the playing style of bone walling the council up in the enclose then b spear/ce them to death.

Want feedback on your personal experiences with running travincial with different builds.

I have been running the counsil lately, with a skellnecro, and its surprisingly easy, my coldsorc works faster though but the necro is much safer.

Im currently working on a Zerker barb for trav runs. I had one last season and he went through them with no problem. I like barbs since i can hork the corpses once i finish and thats where i get alot of my drops. Once i lvl him up i ll give you gear and stats

Thanks for the feedback. Stimm I ran a WW baba on councils in season 1 and at the start of this season just for the hork. I have little patience for melee builds that can only target 1 monster at a time. IE Conc and Zerk. WWing through the council pack with less than full health and watching Geleb explode is not fun, so I try and run travs with a build that i can control better.

I have never retired a Trav runner - its a very deadly place but on each build I have come out with more wealth than all the lost wealth by death.

Ham how long does it take you to clear the council area? How do you handle the door being blocked thus forcing 2-3 skellies to fight one council member?

Ill answer for Ham first. For necro you cast bonewall and the council will come to you. Simple enough.

For my part now. What was your gear on your barb? Res / life etc?

Right now at lvl 66 in hell without my last anya quest or charms or any in nat res and without equiping storm yet my res are 35 /-30 /30 /12. My aim is for 90/90/95/90 in hell with conviction aura. If you have a good weapon and some deadly strike you should be able to 1 or 2 hit ko any monster in trav.

Edit: I still have hell anya quest to do, but I did put 1 point into nat res which now brings my hell res up to 75/5/70/52 without my shield

Point being that with WW you cannot control when Geleb pops. I may thing about a zerker barb what is the fastest zerk attack? 7frames?

It takes about a minute or so, to kill the counsil that is. However, i start in a5, get my skells from pindle's garden, then eld and shenk, if only to get that might aura active.

The trick is to use marrowwalks, max skells and mastery, max bonespear and bonewall, 1 in bone armor. And ofcourse CE, as high as desired, i think i have a 9 yard CE.

In doorways and stuff you have work your merc, try to get him upfront as much as you can to get 1 or 2 kills, CE does the rest.

When you kill the guy's outside and there are some remaining inside run inside and take the entrance to lvl1, that way you get all your skells togetter, step back in to trav and kill the rest.

Edit: notice that i do not put any points in mage's or revive's, there's no need for them, if you use them there are to many summons there, your merc will never join the fight. I run baal with this necro and i never felt the need for revive's. Basicly cos i do decent dmg with my bone spear, that combined with a roxxor merc (hone sundane for the crushing blow and shaft) is all you need to get some kills and get that CE chain going.

In season 1 I used my psn trang nec to run travs with fire golem, had death web. Basically he could do trav in 8 person game with relative ease, just lower resist, nova, corpse explode all bodies let fire golem tank the hydras. Other possible runners, ik ww barb (I did travs with this guy too but only in solo), upped eth hone sundan ww barb, right now my fury druid can do it but he lacks life since oak is always killed fast, but with feral rage + fury his life never really drops. A good wind druid could do travs along with a dual element sorc, I suggest orb/fireball with merc to kill fi/ci after you static it.

Basically I'd say make a psn nec they're fast and easy have an immortal tank vs the hydras alone with no need for a merc.

my IK baba with 2x ravens and a highlords, stash full of charms (life, fhr, mf etc.) has done maybe >300 trav runs, always popped geleb up close and personal with amp on, and still hasnt gone below 1,6 k hp yet... dunno what ur doing wrong :s

Casting shout multiple times doesn't increase defense anymore than the first time, silly.
