Results and Final Decision on my PvP Block/Light/ES Sorc

I have to say, I am impressed on how well it does. Thought some people would be interested in how I built her.

HoA-Souless
Lvl 90
Str: 12 (Base)
Dex: *Its currently at enough to give me 73% block with my shield, will hit 75 once i get a new circlet/lvl up*
Vit: Nothing
Energy: Everything

Life: From 1.2-1.5k depending on my setup
Mana: Anywhere from 3.5k-3.7k depending on block/no block setups

Lvl 40 ES with base lvl 7
Lvl 44 Lightning/Charged Bolt/Lighting Mastery/44 Telekinesis (Even though it doesnt mean much after 20 lol)
Lvl 9 Base CL, 33 with gear
Lvl 1 Warmth
Lvl 1 TS, and everything else in light tree as pre-requiste

Lightning Dmg: 6-24k
CB: 827-857, 24 bolts
CL: 6-8576

FHR: anywhere from 30,42,60,86 depending on what class

Matchups(In a GM no absorb setting but allowed to use 4x LO shield etc):
Bone Necro - Too easy, far too easy
Bow Amazon - Their moot now with block, used to be challenging if they were lucky to get enough arrows locked, not anymore
Light Amazon - Gotta play careful on this one but easy nevertheless
Barb - Anywhere from easy to hard depending on how good, OW usually eats me though
Druids - Hard, but can do okay if played carefully
Pallys - Chargers used to eat me, but I pretty much do very well now
WWsins - Anywhere from easy to hard, depending on their venom dmg
Trapsins - Easy when I play carefully, fire trapsins eat me if they catch me in a lock though

Did i miss any chars?

If they stack res on me, it makes the duel longer and a bit harder, but I can come out on top.

Did I miss anything else in my gear/skills/stat/class matchup selection?

Sounds great souless, i knew a Light/Es sorc would be deadly in your hands. Are you on ladder or nl? I would love to see you duel sometime. By the way could you list your gear and what you switch to depending on who you duel.

bone necros are easy because of 95% ES + MDR

Let me recap something, 7k+ spears do no noticable damage, +20 life replenish on hoto takes care of it, 15k hammers i can tank 3 before losing any mana/health, orbs dont even hurt me one bit, nor do they take alot of mana, you get the picture

Mind showing my some tricks?
I seem to be having all kinds of problems with my sorc.

An act 1 Fallen took my whole orb in one hit, (level 38 orb, max telekinesis)

missed fire sorcs and light sorcs

makes me want to make one since i have the gear lying around

Fire: Gotta play careful else they'll eat my mana quick, sometimes i try crazy and teleport on top of a CB static shock kill :P
Light: Full ones will **** your ES no problem and kill you, so this is a very very challenging duel IMO, its all about aiming and trying to get the first lucky shot to stun and finish it as quick as possible.

A question, why is it that sometimes, I'll lose a huge chunk of life, but almost like no mana, but still have my ES orb up? bug? glitch? or what?

That is what I was telling you about earlier... does it happen alot with fire? Because fire was my main problem with that... I think its just a little glitchy when it comes to that.

It happened to me with blizzard/a trapsin locking me, i'm starting to notice it more and more as i test it with elemental/physical such as a barb's WW. I'm not sure why, but maybe it's due to multiple hits? In the case of FB, the splash?

It's just 7 straight damage, think of it this way.

6k spear for sake of easy numbers,
1/6th pvp penalty = 1000
1000x5%(ES)=500
500 - Mals = Reduced damage

Though it seems that there's something weird about my calculations because I hardly take any damage from 6k+ spears for about 6-9 consecutive hits. I'll look at my equation again soon.

If you're FB, mals wont do much really because not a high ES =/

I usually run at 42 FHR because i traded away one life/mana so im using like 6 FHR/mana. The only time I THINK that 86 or anything higher FHR is useful is vs necros/fb sorcs/lightning sorcs/trappers, though a fire trapper will kill you anyway if they catch you in a good lock.

ES does alot agaisnt magic damage, but a PURE light sorc, my friend's does 48k with 3.2k life, always eats me just because he can tank me before I can tank him.

ES eats necros too easily if they don't stack/absorb. Too easily.

Mine is 40k but my sorc is lvl 85 so I guess if I lvl to 99 I'd reach 48k peak... hopefully... :xsnow:

souless ur math needs brushing up on 5% of 1000 = 50 dmg thats why es sorcs are so effective against necs.

:lol: Well, let me explain why you aren't taking much damage.

6000 Bonespear
1/6 for PvP = 1000
with a 95% ES this will be reduced to 50, not 500! ;)
Reducing 50 damage by 7 multiple times its awesome IMO.
