I think hes talking about in single player, where you can make the map layout the same, and it keeps what you know of the map. And you cant do that online, its a single player only feature.

I think you just need to copy the .key file and .ma# files named after the character and put them in a seperate directory. When you want to revisit this "saved" map, just copy the files back over and overwrite the ones that exist already.

I used to do this to run meph more easily in single player, you could reroll maps until you got an easy one, then make a save of that map for later. I'd make a backup of your save directory contents before you try it.

If I recall correctly, SP maps are locked until you switch difficulties.
