Hey, I am making a Holy Shockadin (lvl 14 atm) and I was wondering on what would be the best items to go for, for the build, and could you check my skill setup to tell me if it's good? Me and 2 friends are making elemental pallies. One is Holy Freeze, and the other is Holy Fire and I am Holy Shock.
Skill Set:
Max Holy Shock
Max Holy Shield
Max Light Res
10 Defiance
5 Zeal
5 Sacrifice

Any comments or suggestions on weapons, items or skills is appreciated.
Thanks,

HoZ is the ideal shield, upgraded for more defense if you want. With so much in holy shield you might want to use smite as a secondary skill for stunning? I dunno :p, on lit immunes. Armor could be tyreals might for it's +2 offensive aura + high defense. Wep maybe a 2x shaeld heaven's light? Gear mainly with some alright defense, skills, life , res, stuff like that.

Well, if you're twinking them, go for
hoz
guardian angel
2x shael heavens light
gore riders
ravenfrost
dwarf star
Couple amulet choices... cats eye, maras, seraphs, whatever you can get really, lots of variety here.

Gloves and boots, I personally love the ik combo, but you could go with Tgods, bloodfists, lots of things here too.

If you're going untwinked, go for a FAST weapon, maybe a 'strength' flail (amn tir runeword), go for IAs gloves, a fhr belt w/ resists.
Aim for a high defense armor, socketed with Rubies for the life
Same on the hat..
Shield, find a socketed (preferably 4 socket) shield with built in resist, and socket it with Diamonds for the resist.
Amulet and rings, focus on getting ones with resist and stats.

Cresent moon phase blade is probably the best shockadin wep.

Holy Fire isn't all that great from what I've heard.

Instead of Holy Fire, he should go Zealot with Max Fanatisism. With that aura going, the shock and freeze guys would be awesome :)

Personally, I like the following combo:

Skills:
Max Shock
Max Shield (you'll need this for blocking as well as for def)
Max Resist Lightening (synergy to shock)
1 Sacrifice
1 Zeal (one hard point is enough with + skill items. Extra pts raises AR/Physical dmg. You may need the extra AR, but try and get that with charms, equipment)
1 pt in misc wonder skills (cleansing, salvation, redemption, meditation, and reqs)
1 pt Defiance
Dump the remander in Salvation for synergy to shock.

Equipment:
Weapon - Crescent Moon Zerker, Scourge, or other fast weapon.
Helm - Guillaume, Rockstopper, Gaze
Boots - Goreriders
Belt - Tgod, String, or Verdungo
Gloves - Draculas if you don't need ias, otherwise Laying of Hands, Lava Gouts
Shield - Pdiamond HOZ, Gerkes
Armour - Duress Light Elite Armour, Lionheart
Ring 1 - Raven
Ring 2 - Mana leech/life leech as required
Ammy - Highlords

You'll have to tweak/charm for decent res. Str for equipment, dex for max block with HS on and everything else in Vita. Try and get to around 1500 hps.

This also gets you a decent amount of CB/DS which will help for bosses and light immunes.

Good luck,

If you manage to get a 'Crescent Moon' weapon (preferrably a Phase Blade) you don't really have to concentrate much on CB since the Static will trigger so often. Both the elemental Zealots should try to get the fastest weapons possible, within reason.

Don't rule out Shako for a helm, either. Your damage will get pretty crazy the more +skills gear you have.

Holy Fire blows. The third guy should either be an Avenger (Vengeance + Conviction) or a Zealot (Fanatacism + Zeal). Both would increase your damage output significantly and improve any possible attack rating deficiencies. My preference would be Conviction since it reduces resists by 150% and reduces defense by upwards of 95%. AR becomes a non issue when your target has 5% of it's regular defense.

You'll want to get the right combination of Mercs, also. I would use Might (NM Offensive), Defiance (Normal Defensive), and Blessed Aim (Normal Offensive). The Might would help your Merc's leech and kill on their own, thus improving their survivability. Defiance would obviously increase your defense, making everyone safer. And Blessed Aim would also help with any AR problems. There's really no other favorable combination of Act 2 Mercs that isn't useless or redundant. You could use a Fire Merc from Act 3 to add the third element. This would especially good with the Conviction from the Avenger.

As long as you guys play together all the time it's more effective the more specialized each build is. The elemental zealots should be fully synergized, meaning max the aura, the single resist synergy, and the Salvation synergy. It's also good for everyone to have one point in Redemption and Vigor. Don't bother with Meditation -- Zeal doesn't use much mana. The Avenger will stick a point here if he really needs it.

The 5 points in Sacrifice is a waste. Pump Zeal for the AR (if needed) and damage (after it gets to 5 hits it starts adding AR and 6%ed per point invested).

If your aura, both synergies, and Holy Shield are maxed, and you've got enough AR with Zeal, then start pumping Defiance (you'll be very high level by now).
