Everywhere I turn around everybody mentions Botd as a best weapon.
But shouldn't players that use scepters, maces and axes prefer Beast rather than Botd?
If you take a look at fanaticism level 9 it has
186% ED
29% IAS.

Now, I'm not sure in which manner does fanaticism combine with ed from weapon (is it additive or somehow else) but this way or that way beast gives you more speed and dmg than Botd. Fanaticism pallys excluded.

So, what are you going to tell me? Botd has leech??? :cheesy:

Botd has leech.

It's not that it has leech, it has MONSTER leech: 7%ML 15%LL, combine that with the +30 to all attributes puts it out in the lead.

Plus it can be made eth b/c of the indestructible mod.

botd can be made in an eth wep, has duel leech and +30 all attributes.

I still like the look of beast better if i ever got rich enough to make either just cos its cheaper

A simplified way to calculate damage: weapon damage * skill damage. All skill sources add to each other, so more weapon damage will mean more total damage in most cases.


Which sounds better? Rough numbers here:

200(higher damage weapon) * 400%(lower skill damage, no fant) or
150(lower damage weapon) * 500%(extra from fanat)

Different applications.

BEAST is much better for chars that have minions ... such as a Necro summoner etc ... while BoTD is great for mercs and other direct damage chars. Both are nice.

Beast surpasses BotD with looks, but not else. Still, I prefer Beast because I've found a legit Ber-rune but never had a knownly-legit Zod (only traded ones).
