Hello

I have a wind druid lvl 84. He is not complete neither have uber items but not too far.

20 hurricane
20 tornado
20 armor
18 twister (i think)
12 oak sage (i think)
1 grizzli

items
viper
jala
wizzi
orphan shield + P diam
arach belt
uniq boots (can not remember which one)
ring amu are some rare not so good.

Merco
reaper toll
uniq armor (with iron maiden when touched)
orphan helm

My res are 75, 1.9K life, 100+ fcr

My problem is that I can get to baal quite easily but then i can not kill baal.
I can not get close enough neither my grizzli/merc can. Then my oak sage die very easily, then grizzli, merc died easily .....

Any advice ? Should I teleport next to baal ? I have a amu with teleport charges but nothing else :(

Thanks

hi there,

It is not that strange that your grizzly die that easily, because it is only lvl 1 with no bonus skills selected, and hurricane is not the attack that will kill baal. so i advise you to read guides and start over again, sorry, :buddies:

What merc do you have? I think windy should have holy freeze merc.
Second, what you hafta know about baal. Slow target by % devastates him.
Thats why reapers toll and holy freeze are nice but...merc probably didnt managre to cast a decrep a few times, right?

Try this few suggestions. Find Kelpie Snare. Its exceptional polearm that has 75% slow target. Give it to merc, and put your reapers toll in stash. Make sure merc reaches baal and hits him. You attack baal with winds. That should do.

Doesn't work? Try this. Find Tan Do Li Ga. Equip yourself with it. Stand in front of Baal, hit him few times (make sure hit was succesful), then cast some winds. Repeat until he dies.

EDIT: just find any crappy item that has slow target property. (cleglaws claws, Crainte vomir, anything)

Hi there! :howdy:

I have to disagree with aragorn-18, 1 point grizzly is a good recastable meat shield, especially since you have +skills.

Slows target works as well as decrepify's slowing effect against baal. If decrepify triggers often enough from the reaper's toll it might be a better choise since it also reduces physical resistance by 50%(tornado is physical damage).

I've noticed that merc's survival is very dependant on whether you have oak sage summoned since it up's mercs life by a fair %. So if you feel you can't keep both grizzly and oak alive while casting tornado's, leave grizzly "dead" but keep oak alive since without it your merc will die sooner.

Make sure that you have cannot be frozen on your gear(ravenfrost unique ring has it) and if your main consern is getting to baal, use boots with more run/walk.

Good luck!

1 point in grizzly doesn't make him all that buff. Its the +skills that most windys have that do it. Unlike most skills, +skills for druid summons DO synergize with each other. So, if you have 10+skills, you get a free 10 points in bear's life synergy(dire wolves I think). Thats why my base lvl1 bear has 3kish life. Points in bear itself will not add life, only damage I think.

My advice is to look for a teleport charges item. Then use it to teleport yourself and merc right on top of baal. This way, the merc gets decrep off and you don't have to run through the ice blast thingy that knocks you back.

Guillaume's face on merc would be good for Crushing Blow which will help kill Baal quickly - IF your merc survives long enough to hit Baal... I suppose you could then start doing things like 4 x Eth rune's in a weapon for -100% defence and then CB him to death that way...

I don't usually give advice in forum's as there are many that probably know a lot more than me.. but i hope this helps... anyone feel this is bad advice? ..

Great advice on crushing blow, although I'm not sure if eth runes work on bosses(if you're not 100% sure on something just say "I think" and you're covered ;)).

Either way, keep up the good work :)
