i was wondering if 5 / x poison helps buff venom in the prebuff claws .. would 5 / x poison in nats armor help buff venom too ?

no it doesnt, once you take them out, your damage reverts to the pre-facet damage.

hmmm .. so the facets wont work in the armor but it still works with the prebuff claws .. ?
As far as I know, they don't work in claws either, at least now how you're using them. Facets are applied on attack, not on buffing.
Psn facets do work for prebuffing. Well the %skill dmg does. The -%psn resist doesn't ofcourse. This is because venom works like enchant. Except instead of fire mastery you have %skill dmg. It's easier to explain with a few numbers , so here goes.
1000 venom dmg (no %psn skill dmg)
50% bramble
TO gloves (25%)
4 5% skill dmg facets on weapon switch in your +3 SD claws
Now venom gets calculated both when you activate it , and when you actually hit your oponent.
Pre-buffing
50 + 25 + 4 * 5 = 95% psn skill dmg
1000 * 1.95 = 1950 psn dmg.
In this part above your psn facets do work , in the next part they won't. When you hit your oponent you do even more dmg then displayed above.
50 + 25 = 75% psn skill dmg (you're not using your SD claws with the facets anymore)
1950 * 1.75 = 3412.5 psn dmg.
ps.
The stat screen prolly won't display this much dmg , but it's bugged really hard. It has flaws all over the place.
I think that the LCS poison actually is a fairly accurate calculation. Although, you have to realize that it counts both your buffing bonus and striking bonus, in addition to your other poison sources (don't forget that added damage on Facets).

lunatic, are you sure the mechanics are the same as enchant? i know that with enchant, your base enchant damage is multiplied by mastery and then remultiplied when you hit the person with a melee weapon, is this true with venom (and %poison damage being like a "poison mastery")?
Yes, that's how it works. Also, just like Enchant, you don't get the second bonus when you strike with a ranged weapon (although -% resists still apply).

I'm sure it works like this. :D And like ilkori said , with ranged attacks the last part in the formula (the thing when hitting) doesn't work.

ok so you are saying if i was to have 2x +3 venom claws with 3x 5/5 psn facets in each for pre buffing, i could almost double my psn damage?

Also don't forget the PLR penalty in hell. I assume it works against players only but since I'm PvP I've never checked vs. monsters. 1000 venom damage over .4 seconds is actually 2000 damage over .8 seconds.

The right pre-buff can give you massive poison damage.
