but how can i improve my build, this is mostely pvm but with a twist of pvp.

Shockwave, better charms, try reaching faster hit recovery breakpoints.

if its pvm id stick with jalahs. more fhr more mana for shock wave. i think shock wave will be your key to killing. might want to get a bow merc or seomthing against iron maiden in chaos.. but im not sure about that.
your strength is a bit low. im guessing around 110 120ish so i guess ik maul is outta the question. (i like it for some reason) shaeled buzura is pretty good too. id suggest getting a duel leech ring and gloves with that life leech belt instead of t gods unless you run into a lot of souls. with around 30ish or maybe even less, leech, you can leech fairly well in hell games. btw is that your maul damage with the maul at its maximum state?

its tricky to get a decent life/damage with limited funds on a mauler.
1st thing id try and improve are charms.
until you have decent then the gris will do alot better.

main weakness of the bear is low ar and shocking fhr.....
without ar you will hit NUFFIN.... THEREFORE = no leech/no kill/death....
dis would HAVE to be a pvm char... but why would pvm use gris caddy?!

having 8k ar is DEFINITLY not enough.. u wouldn't be able to hit anything with a def. bonus mod. .... eg. barb/pally/sorc with high lvl cold shields/ ..... and for the ones you can hit... ur fhr get out-ranked by wolf...zons have a/d/e ..... casters will OWN u wit the low res.....

even with godly gears and nice charms.... (skillers with life/fhr and couple of steel vita sc) a pure mauler will get killed by pretty much any class...
a bear has crap fhr/fbr/ar/def/ .... :(

sorry to be the one to tel it... ive made couple bears with just maul and the ar just would do for pvp....

Jordy, with your approach, what pipi said is true. But for a real 1.10 mauler, you need to look at what you can improve on the build itself, not what you have started with.

The most logical thing to do with a mauler is to make him a massive tank. Instead of your charms go with shifting skillers with +hp & fhr. Dump your armor for the highest deff armor you can get {stone works wonders for its fhr}.

I think before i stripped him, he had 9.837k hp, near 14k deff, max res in hell and enough stacked cold res from gear/charms to nullify most cold mastery.


edits; i never got a cta on this guy, but when my friend gave me his lvl 47 bo, his hp was about 13kish iirc.

His base str was 65ish i believe. Thats a +40 str beast caddy {his damage was too low to worry about, i usualy just stuck with shockwave & let my merc/bear kill}, +20 from jalas, +20 {might be 18, cant remember which anny i had on him} anni, the stormsheild, and +15 str trecks iirc.

I would advocate a botd, and add maybe 10 more to str...

Really the +damage from str dont help at all. And in pvp, it takes a very long time for the maul charges to reach its best.

Which boots do you have in mind, gory's or waterwalks?

All of my shifting gc's with modes have been ***** of me via the trading forums. The best i had were 2x +39ers, but the others were just averagish. I think superbit or d2_junkie might have them now.

but if you need an eth carapace, i still have the one this guy used {217%, -15%req/+15 all res}, it has a lil over 2.6k deff.

He was never ment to hit anything, just to spam shock wave in pvm every now and then, and to aid my bear & merc in slaughter in pvp. He was never too good on his own, thats why he is a mule :lol: .

But he really did threw off a lot of hammeradins, people just dont expect something legit to tank that many hammers. :clap:

I'm not sure if anyone said this but for pvm a shael'ed ribcracker or up'ed shael'ed ribcracker is plenty fast and will do better for you pvm. I'm sure you know the great mods on ribcracker and you can use it at like lvl 31 I think. My bear used ribcracker til he was around 80ish ahahah. Actually .... he still might be using it :cheesy: . I would def. go caddy for pvm unless you can get your hands on some nasty ed/ias jewels but if your like me and have been looking for them on ladder they go for some nasty prices.

You really shouldnt have to much pvm problems if you get your resistance up. Shockwave maul rinse repeat.
