Name Lock. What is it?

I herd of some people "name locking" when dueling. Is this legal? How do you do it?

Namelock is clicking and holding on the player and switching skills (tele/hammers/traps/mindblast) etc... its completely legal and doesnt require any downloads lol :thumbsup:

so what i have to do is, go up to them(or tele into screen, and try to teleport with them?) and spam attack/spells on them?

i just made a blizz sorc dueler

so i could have 'teleport'as my leftclick(if this is possible. is it?) and have 'blizzard' as my right click skill?

ok, so i would ahve leftclick holding onto your name(even when you move out of screen) and IF i was a bone necro, and casted my spears would head into your general direction? and hit if i was lucky?

Ok, now im running at you n i notice i cant do damage.. so i run away but before im out of you screen you 'namelock' me and start spamming bs/BS at me eventually those will prolly hit if i stop..

i am so tired of ppl calling me a hacker because of the usage of namelock during duels on my blizz sorc, everytime they got killed, things like "gg noob, nice aa" or "sad, cant u win w/o using aa" always pop up. which is extremely annoying :rant:
so..... can anyone suggest some methods to shut their mouths? :idea:

Their isn't any suggestions... i'm the most legit player i know and i get called "aa'r" like everyday...
Wherever their is good players, their is always the ones that resort to name calling.

Namelocking is just the same as locking on, say Mephisto, with a skill such as Blizzard or Meteor.

You Right click on meph while he's just on screen, your spells keep hitting him even when he moves off screen.

u cant keep namelock on forever, thats probably why ppl accuse you.. but if they dont have the brains to run away from you its their own fault

People will accuse you of aa for one good lock. Its Very obvious when a blizz sorc is aaing however. They will know your aren't(assuming you aren't ;)) even if they say you are. Unless they are just inexperienced duelers, which many are.

btw in 1.09 (bowzones etc) when dueling name lock was threated as bad manner and i agree 'coz if u are locked by someones right click u need to run away for long time to loose his lock
its not really fair being locked (my opinoin ) mainly if u are caster why ? 'coz u dont know where is ur opponent but if u locked him ur missiles are going straight forward him no matter ur knowledge of urs positions , obviously u have to lock when u r melee

Namelock isn't bm since Everyone can use it. Just like it isn't bm for two smiters to use exile against each other, or two sorcs to absorb each other.

Congrats on being the first person I have ever heard say namelock was bm. ;)

Right up there with the pally that told me his ar would crush my block.

namelocking was very popular in 1.09 for FoH, Blizzard and not to mention what made trappers extremely deadly.

namelocking is no longer as effective as it was in 1.09. someone can be 3 screens away, and you would still have a namelock. but in 1.10, it doesnt take much time before you lose it.
