Well I decided to make a kicker for a change so traded everything i could to get items for her.

Got a death web -48% shael
Bramble 50% archon
CoA -10+10 15dr
Stormshield PTopaz
Trang gloves
Angelic amulet and Ring
Ravenfrost
Upgraded Goreriders
9 shadow charms
Anni

1500 life 75% block

Just started dueling I can kill most amazons and charged strike zons if i pile up on lightening res.

Sorcs just fast teleport and I can't dragon flight any of them.

It seems with barbs if one stood still and didnt attack I can kill them in 2 kicks however when they WW just about nothing hits ever even if they have low defence.

I die to all paladins except some zealots.
Necromancers just send a load of bonespirits at me then spear me so as soon as I dragon flight i get hit by about 3 bonespirits.

Wind druids are just impossible for me.

I can kill other kickers, WWsin just WW and again nothing hits and trappers just lock me in mind blast.

I'm doing around 2800 venom damage with 1000 per kick at 5 kicks and am in serious need of other kickers help and suggestions dunno if I just suck at playing her of shes just really bad.

edit- I'm using BOS too to reach faster kick with death web

You have 50% bramble and no CTA? Go get a CTA for starters, even a low BO level one will help (and the lower ones are cheap). I've had kickers with life greater than 3000 by a good chunk. You must have your life higher than 2K vs. decent opponents, 1500 is just too low.

Are you using WoF/MB to lock up casters? If you don't lock them up you will lose. A lot.
Wake and MB are your friends. Use them. And use some fast cast to boost your MB casting rate.

The shield build means you will have trouble vs. good caster types. My experience has been you need to decide: Do I want to duel melee or do I want to duel as anti-caster?

First: You will never beat a good ww-barb or good ww-sin. You will beat the bad ones, but not the well-equiped and halfway skilled ones. You will also die 99% of the time to good smiters.
Second: If you want to do well vs. melee, you have to specialize in it. Which means that your efforts vs. casters will suffer.
Third: If you want to take on casters and have decent success, you need to go claw-claw (which means you will suck even more vs. melee).

Personally, I say go anti-caster as it's the most fun. But that's just me.

What is your skill distribution?

You have some good gear, but you need more flexibility, because skilled opponents will have a high poison resist.
I would replace the Trang gloves with Dracul’s to boost your amount of OW. I will recommend around 50 % OW.

You only need Angelic when you fight high defence chars – 20000 defence or more. Switch to Mara/crafted amu or dual raven or raven/resist ring against casters (high resist/low absorb is always better than low resist/high absorb).

My lvl 90 kicker has 14000 AR (Dtalon) with dual raven/Mara, and that is plenty against all casters.

Don’t ever expect that your kicker will do well against skilled barbs with good gear. NB! Never attack a barb (or ww assa) while the WW.

Smiters are tough opponents for any melee char, but remember that you can block smite with dual claws.
Skilled melee pala’s are generally hard to beat for kicker, exspially if you try to tank them.
FoH pala’s shouldn’t give you many problems (dual claw again).

When you fight sorc’s, necros’s and wind druids, always use dual claws, and remember that they will often have low FHR, which makes MB more efficient.

A decent kicker should be able to kill at least 75 % of all sorc’s, but only with dual claw.

Necros’s are difficult to beat for any char, but you should be able to win around 30-40 % of the duels. If they use Marrowwalk, they will have a very strong BA, which means that your success depends on poison and OW. If you use 'hit and run' tactic your winning chances will improve (dual claw again).

I beat around 80 % of all trappers. Despite I have a Whisp in my stash I hardly ever use it, but you need a Thundergod’s belt for sure.
Remember to count the LS shoots, and after 7-8 LS shoots you can make your move. Always dual claws (dual jade e.g.) against trappers and always have 86 % FHR.

Most wind druids are rather easy to beat, unless you try to tank them.
If they stack a big minion you have to be careful, because it’s difficult to use DF. Cast CoS to blind his minion, and use MB to interrupt tele. Always take his Oak Sage out first, because many druids can easely have more than 5000 life. If they are loaded with FCR and have a big minion you will loose 90 % of all duels.

My kicker has also low life (around 1500), and therefore I never try to tank my enemies – just MB, DF and one Dtalon kick sequence and then get the hell out of there, while the poison and OW drains there live.

Always remember one point in WoF. When you combine WoF with MB it’s easy to stun lock your opponent (depending on the amount of FHR).
I often use Wizard spike/Storm in duels, and with 50 FCR you can really make your MB shine.

My kicker use Bartuc/jade against casters and Fleshripper/Wizard spike//Storm against Melee.

If you can force your enemy to run, your winning chances will improve, because it's very easy to hit with DF when they run.

Use WoF to make a 'trap field' (they are almost invincible) and when your enemies approach cast MB and then DF- Dtalon.

It’s important that you have some patience with your kicker, because its takes a lot practice (compared to other chars) to be success.

Good luck

Ok thanks for the in depth replies.

How about this if i get 2 jade talons with 50 resistance each on my weapon switch for sorcs however what should I put in them 2 poison facets? or more resistance jewels or maybe even an UM for some openwound.
Where do i get the 20 strenght I need for CoA if i do this? Bartuc maybe?

I will also try to get maras and a resistance ring.

Does my kicking range depend on my weapon range?

My skills are, DFlight, DTalon, BOS, Venom all maxed
1point in wake of fire, mind blast and shadow master.

If you have decent resist i would use Bartuc(Um)/Jade(resist jewel). With your gear OW is more important than poison.

Don't underestimate a powerful SM. My kicker use a lvl 38 (2500 life) SM, and she often make a big diffence in duels, because she can take some serious beating. Personally I prefer max SM over max DF, because a low lvl DF will hit with same frequence as a high lvl. If you just spent one point in SM, she will just act like a decoy. My SM has killed many sorc's solo.

I assume that you dont have max BoS, because it's a waste of points. If you choose Dual claws you also need a decent WB around lvl 16.

I mean that kick range is 2 and you can't improve it

A Thundergod's belt also gives you 20 strenght.

Why not use Shadow Dancers for 2 more points into Venom?

Kick range is based on weapon range. All claws have a range of 2.

Don't forgot Cloak of Shadows. If you're fighting melee, it can help lower their defense a bit more. 1pt usually.

Get Chaos claws as well, but just don't use WW.

Ok thanks for all replies, I've got some ideas now.

First of all leonysky how can you say its not very good because only 1500 life, with Shadow Lifers and CTA I will easily hit 2500 I just can't afford it yet.

Also I usually 1 hit KO with DTalon if I can hit so damage is fine my AR is also 18,000 and it seems as if I can hit easily a static opponent its when they try and run away it misses or simply I can't catch them. I think this is because of the range 1 Death Web and my lack of claw/claw vs casters.

Also leonsky why use Chaos/Storm when I can use Azurewrath(um)/Storm which looks cooler has same range and is cheaper and better for my needs and for the mindblast lock well, flappersdk and speederlander have helped me out with this already as if i go claw/claw I will have 90FHR from CoA and 2claws.

But another idea I've had just now is a custom 6 socket phase blade with 2/3 Um and 3/4 poison facet tell me what you think of this please.

My anti-caster kicker build goes:

chaos main claw
bartucs with 15 res jewel off-hand
enigma
20 fc helm with + sin skill (can socket UM for res or shael for fhr)
maras (can be switched for caster ammy)
raven (can be switched)
caster ring with mana (can be switched)
arachnid that can be switched for T'gods
Shadow dancers
10 shadow skillers
9x life/mana sc]

CTA and lidless on switch

2x wisp in stash
upped hotspurs in stash
dwarf in stash
extra raven in stash
fast cast ammy in stash
extra fast cast ring w/mana in stash
200 ed ethereal upped tucs in stash
+3 shadow helm with psn facets for buffing in stash
pair of +3 shadow claws with psn facets in stash for buffing
+3 shadow ammy in stash
bramble in stash
2x SOJ for buffing in stash

Skills:
talon - enough to get just UNDER 4 kicks, i.e lvl 17 talon with BC on.
fade - max
MB - max
SM - max
venom - max
WB - enough to get 60% block with all eq.
WoF - 1 pt.

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding some of the questions here - or whether they are even questions. Hopefully this will clear a couple things up.

Kick range
Kick range is based on weapon range. As of 1.10 all claw type weapons have a base range of one with a range_add of one, making a range of 2 (if I understand that correctly). The Arreat Summit still lists the old value of 1 for all.

Chaos/Fury or Chaos/Chaos
Only the mods from one of those claws (your primary claw) applies to your kicks. Chose one or the other, there is no point in having both.

Hitting WWers
To hit these, hold down your shift key (to stand still) and make sure you are in their path. Most will have a range of 3 (or more if wielding polearms), so they can hit you before you get a chance to hit them.

I'm in need of more general help opposed to answer specific questions ilkori and thanks for the help on kick range.
Does this mean if i use a range 3 weapon my kick range will be 3 e.g. Berserker axe.

Also any opinions on a 6 socket phase blade with 3/4 poison facets and 2or3 UM runes.

ilkori

I haven't PvP'd or I'd try giving suggestions. My only experience was at level 41. That was fun, but not the same as dueling at high levels.

Yes, Berserker Axes will give you a kick range of 3. Flails also have 3 range; a Malice Flail works quite well in a lot of situations, and it's hella cheap.

Congrats on post 666, ilkori. Also, along with those funewords, try "black" out. 40% Crushingblow, ias, and some stats. ^^
