High runes found in hell cowlevel

I heard that a bud of mine found a BER rune in hell cowlevel, and that his friend found a JAH rune there a few days earlier.

Could this very well be true ?
And have YOU also found any runes abowe GUL in hell cowlevel ?

I have been cowing endless times and found 1 hel rune 1 time. Thats it.

Indeed it is. Hell Andariel has been known to drop some high runes from time to time as well. I scored an OHM from her once....

Lower Kurast basket/log/chest running is the best way to get good runes though
(no Chams/Jahs/Zods tho)

If you want the higher runes, you'll need to head to the River of Flame for your best chances.

Well, I think Lower Kurast "objects" are weighted highest for dropping runes (well...other than the Countess), so they are the "best" for dropping the high end stuff (Mal+).

I'm still for the Countess+Cube for getting the rarer stuff (I think I'll find enough Ists from her to Cube a Zod than actually find a Zod :)). A guaranteed rune, and a chance of up to 3 than can go up to Vex (got one, actually), and a rather easy area for any Lightning-using character, like a Javazon or CL Sorc.

by CL u mean Chain lightning right ?

why are ppl using it, sure it does nice dmg, can hit multiple targets but Lightning does 2 times the dmg, and wipes out a room in 2-3 attacks..

Reasons for using cl, targeting, you notice how the countess sends her minions to the door first... well you hit one, your stray lighting from the cl hits her.... I love just targeting 1 in a room like in the tomb area, and hitting everything in the room.

Try it sometime. I got far more useful and "rare" runes by doing LK runs (plus a Stormshield from a barrel) than doing regular monster killing.

Slap on some FRW boots and some FRW charms and set it to players8 and pop like mad.

Without using a stupid bot ?
How is this possible, i ran her prolly over 100 times and I got 1 ko, rest lower.
Now i never go near her because she drop so poorly(for me).

I've gotten a mal and a jah from the council memebers near mephisto in hell, and i've seen ists drop in hell cows. Unfortunately i had just started playing diablo when i got the ist and traded it away for something crummy :rant:

My theory is that you get better rune drops if you have a really high lvl character. I'm not sure if this makes any sense though, it's probably just Diablo superstition at play... :lol:

It's superstition, unless... the "really high level char" kills faster than the other ones. Even if it's just by 10% --- killing 110 monsters instead of 100 means 10 more monsters that could drop a rune.

these ppl find the high rune there cuz a lot of ppl run them, i found a jah rune last ladder season running ancient tunnels with a blizzard sorc, saw a gul rune and ohm rune in same chaos run doing quest(i **** you not)didnt get them :grrr:

now i do maybe 100s of runs a week more or less, but if you kill enough things in full games you will see them, just keep your eyes open. in the time i have been playing i have fouond maybe 10 runes from vex up, so it will happen, it just a matter of time

this may be true but doing pindle all day will get you a realm down (happened to me)
