View Full Version : Ladder vs non-ladder duelling

Need all your takes on this. With all the GODLY uber dupes going round in non-ladder, what's the point of even duelling in non-ladder pubbies?

I duel occasionally in ladder games and it is good fun. Seems that everyone has enigma and stuff (well, let's not ask where they get it from) but generally, it seems quite balanced. There are asses out there but generally it is good. I'm just wondering about non-ladder cos I've never played non-ladder USeast. Are there great duelling games in non-ladder?

Ladder is better then non-ladder hands down. If you want to play with the elite people who have items that have been on the diablo 2 servers longer then you have, then by all means play non-ladder. However, for those of us who desire a slightly more even playing field ladder will always be our choice.

Non-ladder has better duelers and more compition. It is also much harder as well.
Let me put it this way, when ladder season merged, the best ladder duelers got owned by the best non-ladder duelers, even with ladder only items.
I was able to slay whole ladder games with a fire druid on ladder, while non-ladder he didn't have a chance.

However... ever since first ladder reset, ive seen alot more noobs and ALOT more hammerdins on non-ladder.

I moved to NL dueling because Ladder was too easy(having a full windy setup 4-5 weeks into ladder was overkill it turns out :(). Its still fairly easy to beat most duelers, but there are always a few guys that are decent, if only by having disgustingly perfect gear.

your ebay hax is whats making your dueling expereinces boring. try dueling with just enigma on for the hell of it. you beat someone decent and ill give you a rune :)

i think when i dueled in ladder it wasnt TOO big of a difference. many people told me that the dueling style is much more different but after ladder ended.. seemed as same as always. of course like rauth mentioned.. if you were dueling early into the ladder session, it would be a buncha people dueling with pwnage rares. not uniques or runewords. rare cracked belt anyone?

well if none NL duel with L NL will win why
well like you say some NL item don't some up in L like skill charm but in NL the only we don't get is new wep but who need those wep i mean everyone get rune wep these day.
so you will find that NL char can do more dmg for hammer paly i heard they can do up to 40k dmg or something by having skill point 40 ( 40 is max i think) but i L i don't think they can do 40k dmg at since they don't have skill gc in L
so if you want hard Duel game NL duel game is hardder then L so its up to you where you want to duel

Ladder is a Great place to start for gaining wealth and experience in dueling. When ladder resets, you will be able to sell those ladder only thingys for lots of runes.

rauth did you try to get on my acc and find out that the pass was changed? haha if so marl changed it because he thought you guys were robbing me. i told him to change it back though.

that's not true. I dominated more when i was dirt poor because i actually dueled alot.

Yes chris, but an inexperienced dueler with godly gear>>than a inexperienced dueler using magic gear.
