Classic: 4 socket armors and 3 sockets helms, imbue quest

Arreat Summit lists a few 4 socket normal and exceptional armors (although I hesitate to pump up str to 70) and 3 sockets helms. Are they available in classic, too ? I don't want to spend too much time in classic and waste my PTs, as I'm just trying to MF a little to have a good HF rusher sorc.

What to use the imbue quest for if it's for a meteorb sorc and at which level ? My guess is belts and boots at L30 (I'm already near the 50s...).

all normal uniques are in classic. the exceptinoal/elite unques are not in classic. there are no elite items in classic. there are also no charms/class specific stuff in classic. everything else is in.

as for imbue, belts and boots sounds good. might consider gloves also unless u have a good pair already.

ehm, I don't think it's possible to find socketed armors in classic unless you use the socketing recipe (please correct me if I'm wrong)

There are no socketed armors period in classic, so don't pump your strength. 3-socket helms can be found, including on masks which have a nice low str req. Might as well imbue belts or boots. You're better off with Frostburns or Magefist for gloves.

How about this recipe:
3 Perfect Skulls + 1 Rare Item + Stone of Jordan = Add 1 Socket To a Rare Item
Rare Items can only have two sockets. You cannot add sockets to items that don't normally have sockets.
... Or would this still not work because armors don't normally have sockets in classic?

Well if you have a few spare Soj in classic you can always add a socket to an item, just need to find a few Soj.

My sorc will most probably wear the Soj instead of getting a socket from that recipe. But thanks anyway, I overlooked that recipe. I will take advantage of it as soon as I found my 3rd Soj :lol: I have no Soj reserves because (1) I never played classic on bnet and (2) this is ladder classic.

BTW, using a 3 PT helm is no longer an issue because nm Andy gave me a Tarnhelm :thumbsup:
