100 Pindle/Shenk/Eldritch Runs

Since i had alot of free time today i decided to do 100 runs of Pindleskin, Shenk the Overseer, and Eldritch the Rectifier. I did all these runs with a summoner nec with 234 mf. The results are less than impressive. I marked all unique/set exceptional and elite. I counted runes shael and above.

Pindle:
IK belt
Griffons Eye (been lookin forever for this for zon :thumbsup:
Nats boots
and thats it :rant:

Eldritch:
Windhammer
Deathbit
Dol
again thats it :rant:

Shenk:
Spectral Shard
Dual leach rare ring
Nightwing's Veil
Buriza

Other(other monsters besides those uniques and their packs that i killed along the way:
Todesfaelle Flame
Whitstans Guard
Umes Lament

Well this list shows that it takes alot of time and effort for very little profit. Of course i did get Griffons and Nightwing but those are pretty small for the ammount of time i put in. Put in input mebbe i was just having a bad mf day :grrr:

234% mf is not a lot, and neither is 100 runs.

Right when 1.10 came out, I did about 20 meph runs one night with around 550 mf, and I got way better drops than that. Maybe you weren't mfing in the right spots.

righto but this is just to help those people that are mebbe new and dont have the top gear to hit those high points of 400+ish.

234% mf -> 120% better chance for unique
234% mf -> 159% better chance for set

400% mf -> 153% better chance for unique
400% mf -> 222% better chance for set

Just in case anyone is thinking upping the MF would make uniques rain.

Those links are for 1.09... so I wouldn't call them good pages for MF. There is one updated MF guide somewhere, but I don't know the link.

IIRC it covers things pretty well, but doesn't give the diminishing return formula; that can be found in the Facts & Formulae archive (http://strategy.diabloii.net/news.php?id=551#MF%20Diminishing%20Returns%20Formu lae)

Most don't have a need to know such formulae, just knowing that MF has dimishing returns is enough for most. The formula is only a small part of the whole what to drop routine.

If i walked out with a Griffons Eye and a Nightwings Veil i wold be jumpin for joy so u should definitely be happy with that time well spent.

I probably wouldnt do sucha runz if I had high magic find, I'd just go for pindle, and then clear Halls in 8player game (sp or bnet).
I usually kill meph only, and I figured I got better result then running those superuniques. Killing meph 100 times with only 30 MF gave me 71 item (and 40 of normal quality). 30 exceptional/elite is much better than your 10. Ponder that for a second. Only the problem is, you cant run Meph with necro like with barb.

Good point man, and I totally agree. I started my Overlord necro that way and eventually got him to roughly 450% mf.

I'd also throw The Pit in there as Well. It takes time and PATIENCE, but the Pits can be profitable too. I'd even say almost on par with the Act 5 "quick trip" bosses you mentioned.

I used to run Tristram too, but I never got anything more decent than a bunch of gold and a bloody stump. Poor Wirt...but it serves him right for being such a rip-off in D1. :lol:

Just to let you know it took my lvl 90 Hammerdin with 267 mf nearly 700 runs to find an SOJ from Eldritch. Even now at 301 mf, it takes a great number of runs (500) to acheive success in finding items.

Mebbe i will do 100 trav runs next... These will be more difficult but i believe it is possible. Now i just gotta find the time... Thx for so much input in the thread.
