PvP Summoner

I'm working on my summoning necromancer for PvP. Luckily I don't have an Enigma and therefore won't be tempted to use that lame minion stacking bug (if that can be called lucky).

So, can anybody point me towards a guide? I'm tring to make it so that he can hold his own in pubby games, though obviously not against any real good duelers (honestly, who expects that much from a necro? ;))

go look for one on the nec forum there should be plenty of them, They can do well in pubs and private but prepare to be hated. also you might wanna use marrow walks for the bug and get 3k spirits and spear.

becareful. you prolly wont ohld your own most likely in pks with a minion necro. minion stacking is the thing that makes them so powerful. mix it with some poison bones spells and minion stack and youve got a lame but somewhat effective pk char. without enigma you might have some problems vr.s elemental chars and warcry barbs.

edit: o ya.. make sure you dont run into a rabies druid either. :O

I don't get it. I own all minion stacking pnb necs EASILY w/ all my general chars. The only problem I find is the lag from them. Is minion stacking suppose to be great? :scratch:

Whats the point in making a dueler if you dont have such basic things like enigma? No offense but you probably need to do meph runs, not duel.

Heh. I remember when new ladder started. Every meph run Was a duel. Hard to hell meph run with rare/magic gear using a orb sorcy. ;)

heh I was using a blizzer in first ladder season.. meph was ez with moat trick.

Yep. I used a fb/orb thingy at first so me and some friends could make it through hell self-rushing. Made blizz after 2 days so I could hide behind moat like everyone else ;)

Well, it's a vicious cycle for me when I try to run.

I need MF gear in order to actually MF. I need to MF to get MF gear.

So, mind explaining to me how the hell I'm supposed to suddenly sprout a wealth of items out of my ***? Go ahead, I'm listening. I don't have any friends to leech off of, and I don't have any luck whatsoever trying to find good trades or getting items from bosses.

...One last thing, why the hell is enigma considered "basic"? I an EBotD Zerk Axe basic all of a sudden now too? Wow, seems like only a minor fraction of the population is keeping up with the proper requirements then!

This is NL, but it still applies:

A single +40 life Combat/PnB/Elemental charm is worth around 5-6 enigmas on East NL (15x3/20/20)

A single 12Fhr combat/PnB/Ele charm is worth about 1 and 1/2 enigmas.

1.08 Valk Wing is worth 5-6 enigmas (16x3/20/20)

Paladin/Druid Caster Amulets with good mods are worth GODLY (since none of the fcr pala/druid ammies were made in 1.09)

A good rare circlet can be worth more than 1.08 valk wing

A legit 20life/15+ mana charms can go for enigma each (3x3/20/20)

So you see a rich guy isn't someone with enigma, cta and hoto. It's pretty standard.. like shaft/gaze/wf was in 1.09. Rich people have godly legits, 40+ life skillers, godly rares etc...

And I didn't really PK on ladder when I still played it, just farming ladder items, I'm saying that currently enigma isn't worth alot or hard to get like in starting days of 1.09.

Things are about the same on west. Offered 18 runes for a 44 life ele gc and the guy turned me down :(. Sad part is, he probably Did get a lot more.

For all you poorer people: GO TO WEST TRADE FORUM NOW AND START GUESSING NUMBERS!! There will be multiple full tal sets being given out. I know I donated at least 4 or 5 myself, and I wasn't the only one to donate.

Quick way to get enigma: Do hellforges one way or another. ist+mal will get you a high rune Very fast. I've traded just ist for high rune a few times. A lot of times you can get a low def/somewhat higher str enigma for 1 rune.

Okay, so what you're saying is that that stuff that is either no longer able to be found, or is impossible to find legitly in any single lifetime, is good. And you're trying to base enigma as basic in comparison to that? I'm sorry, but I don't seem to be able to follow the insanely flawed logic of your posts...

The fact is that Enigma, and all of that other top-end dueling gear does not come cheaply, and is in no way, ever, basic. The only way to possibly get one whort of selling your soul is to either have good connections to already rich people, or to devote yourself to the game about 8 hours a day. I have neither of those options.

Oh, and by the way, I am on non-ladder, just to let you know (you seemed confused that I was on ladder for some reason).

Well based upon my old Godly PvP summoner, ill help u out...if u can afford it.

Of course he used Enigma, cta, FULL gcs, blah blah.

His weapon was Beast zerk. This is probably the best to use for a PvP summoner. Giving Fanat to all the minions really helps out AloT~add that with enigma stack minions, and U got urself a nice PvP summoner.
