upgrading my spear?

Goodmorning all,

I was wondering whether I could upgrade this throwing spear, I'm using it with my L87 amazon, but it's damage is just too low :x I read the arreat summit's guide on upgrading, it said it'd only work on 'rare' (what's rare?) and unique weapons. Could someone please tell me if this throwing spear classifiesas 'rare'?

It's a magical spear right? And magical items can't be upgraded, only rare and unique items can be uppgraded.

Here's any easy way for you to tell what 'Class' an item is (hope this helps):

Magic = items with Blue coloured writing.
Rare = items with Yellow coloured writing.
Unique = items with Gold coloured writing.

Non-Magical = items with White coloured writing.
Socketed/Ethereal = items with Grey coloured writing.
Crafted = items with Orange coloured writing.

I don't think I missed any out :lol: . That's assuming you don't use Maphack as I think that changes the colour of the writing for some items, or something like that :scratch: .

Just today, I thought I saw one of my items had a funny colour, something not quite gold, so that would be a unique, and a golden item a rare. I guess it's just taken me a while to see the difference :x Thank you so much. ^^
