Need help with Sorc

My sorc is a PvM, i maxed warmth, orb, cold mastery, and have a point into tele and shiver armor along with prerequisites. should i synergize my orb and max out bolt, or should i put some points into lightning tree incase i run into a monstre immune to cold? if so what light skilll should i use?

One point into good old Static Field. It's not only great for dealing with cold immunes, but also against bosses with very high life. Spam static a bunch of times and let your mercenary poke away at it.

One point is all you need - more points will increase the range of effect, but you shouldn't need the extra range - hopefully, your sorceress will have some +Skill items handy.

Of course, you still have to worry about the occasional cold/lit immune monster, but if you play with a group you'll be just fine.

Since you appear to be a cold specialist, you should definately work toward maxing your synergies. I'm sure others will have some good advice for you too. Hope your sorceress turns out well. :)

In future you might want to avoid maxing out warmth, with one point and plus skills you can usually do fine, since cold spells have a casting delay.

there is never a need to max warmth, 1 point is plenty, its not like the 1.09 nova sorc. i suggest you to go to sorceress forum and check out their guides

Alot of people use CL for the imunes when paired with orb. Though with your points in Warmth I don't know if the dmg it can do will be viable without the synergies... I would just suggest getting a good merc to deal with them, and maxing out bolt for the extra damage.

thanks for the help, this is my first sorc so i fugured i would screw up somewhere. luckily i have a friend that hooks me up with some great equip. hes gotten me and occy, lidless, and magefist gauntlets.

Don't worry about it. Some of us have been playing this game for years and still haven't built a perfect character. You'll get better at character building as you pick up more playing experience. In the meantime, you can put some magic finding gear on your sorceress and use her to farm goodies for your future characters. :)
