View Full Version : Another awesome rare claw (I hope)
Hey guys. I found another rare claw a few games ago. (This is why I mf a lot -- for the rares.. forget the uniques!) I believe it's even better than the other one I found before (Storm Thirst Cestus, perf cruel + fools mod, max dmg and ar mods), but I'm not an expert at all on assassins. Take a look:
Soul Barb
Wrist Sword
1h dmg: 128 to 216
+2 to shadow disciplines
279% ed
+46 max dmg (based on char lvl)
+1534 ar (based on char lvl)
+2 blades of ice
Knockback
Can this be upgraded? I think it's useful for WWsins, no?

Knockback isn't really a good thing. To me, I want the target to stay put and get hit with my multiple attacks. You could have fast caster characters getting away from you this way. Anyone tried a claw with knockback on ww-sins?
Wrist Sword is already an Elite claw. Nice find btw, what's your secret? (j/k don't answer that)
I was dueling an assassin someday with my pretty good Lightning sorc. I could kill most WW Sins easily, but this one with Knockback got me into trouble. The thing is that she kept knocking me back and right into her WW, so I couldn't Tele/run since I was FHR-locked (know that WW for Sins is faster) I couldn't to much but pray and wait ..

Well, that is an interesting observation. Perhaps KB helps?
Yup, that's what I was pointing at :)
I thought too that it would not be good, but it seems that with a WW Sin it's good. I'm telling you, I kept being knock backed just in front of her and she was still WW'ing me at supreme speed (even if I had like 64% FHR on Sorc).
I saw a WWsin use knockback before, and them casters got knocked around in random directions (half the time into the WW itself). I guess it's good?
Ikori, I'll tell you my secrets of rare hunting. Maybe! But I'll tell you that I don't find most of my rares in pindle or meph (well, sometimes meph), hehe.

Just curiously, where do you find most of your rares?

I never seem to find any good rares.. If i find one with Fools mod, the ED% sucks and if I find one with decent ED, theres no IAS or Fools Mod

One time you'll love it, the next time you'll hate it. KB sometimes keeps them in the path of your ww, but other times it prevents you from getting more than one hit per ww. Decide for yourself if you think it's worth it :)

I think it is worth taking the risk, since anyways, when you WW you move, hence you won't be damaging them long if you past them.

Not true. You will hit multiple times in one pass (often). Whereas KB can knock your target clear and you only heit them once.
this would require you to ww through them at a perpendicular angle in order to get the best chance of multiple hits through knockback.

I would think KB would be extremely helpful if you WWing in a straigt line it would Be bump, hit bump hit. Also it'd bit them in hit recovery mode.

Burt will they always be knocked back in the direction you want?
Knockback works with WW IF and ONLY IF you hit them dead on - if you whirlwind along the line drawn from you to the target. Test this out if you want - its pretty easy to witness. I used this tactic all the time against bosses back in the olden days in classic. Otherwise, like others have said above, the knockback will clear your target away from your WW, resulting in only one hit.
Oh, and if you do it just right, you'll typically carry them through the whole WW (making long WW's extremely deadly), hitting them many more times than capable without knockback. Not sure how well it works in PvP, but again, I did it all the time back in classic.
