Help For My Smiter Pally

Hi, Im making a smiter pally, he's actually lvl 61 but going up fast as days go. Atm I have :

20 Holy Shield
20 Smite
15 or so fana
1 salvation
1 defiance
Prereqs

Stats : 80 str, base Dex, 250 vit, base mana

I'm wondering what would be the best build Itemwise, statwise and skillwise with what i have at the moment. BTW I didn't put dex yet because i am not sure that you can block while your smiting... we'll if you can I hav'nt seen my pally do it up to now. I also dont know if I should go with + to skills or Crushing blow, critical strike etc... I don't really have a budget limit, all though Jah, Zods, Enigma, etc are kinda out of budget, If you know what I mean. I'm planing to Max defiance since I might not put dex points. With Upped HoZ and Upped GA I should get enough def to compensate for the lack of block (if that if possible). Thx for the info all.

I'd always try to have some in CrushingBlow.. so.. here are my personal suggestions

Weapons:
Least Preferred: Thul Io Nef (40 CB)
Eh: Heaven's Light (Pally Skills, CB, and 1-2 sockets)
Best Smiter Wep: Astreon's Call (This is a little hard to get, because it can't drop from hell meph)

As well, or in substitution of the weapon:
Duress Armor, is absolutely delicious.. Open Wounds and Crushing Blow ? Delicious..
If not, Shaft (DR is nice) or GA

Is this PvP or PvM?

Dwarf
Bloodfists
Upd HOZ (PDiamond)
Cats Eye (Mara if you can reach the 35% IAS with out cats)

Maxed fana
Maxed Holy Shield
Maxed smite
and im currently maxing Charge
about 10ish in defiance

dont worry about blocking while your smiting you will knock them back you want block for the other times.

I have no problems with PVM or little with PVP.

Gives you good amount of OW/CB.

He is PVM, Made too play with but also to solo bosses, such as DClone.

you definitely want to have max block... it just makes you a pure tank when your fighting monsters...

and ... i know the guy above didnt mention it, but i think draculs grasp are the best possible gloves for a smiter. The life tap charges make you near invincible! It even works on bosses! If a monster is lifetapped i think your life bulb fills within 2 smite hits!
