What is max phys dmg a creature can deal?

Can someone tell me what is highes physical damage creature could deal to you (just a pure phys without amp, or auras or anything)? Is player getting any penalty to phys resist in nm and hell?

It's probably the physical damage from corpse explosion that fire enchanted monsters in nightmare cast as they die. I suppose the ancients are the ones with highest life, so they should deal more damage. Council members, Hephasto and Lister may deal some high damage also.

As for melee, i'd think of death lords. Damn, those are mean!

Highest 1 hit melee attack seems to be hell Demon Steed, coming in at 134-211dmg.

But, I would have to say that hell Bloodlord ranks #1 here, because chances are, if he hits you once, his double swing is going to hit you. He deals 74-139dmg, which, after two hits, is 148-278 dmg.

Much higher than Demon Steed, which attacks pretty slow to begin with.

These numbers don't seem very high, when you consider 1 hits for over 1k dmg has happened before, but remember that Might/Fanat, Extra Strong, FE/CE/LE, Spectral hit, can do wonders to dmg.

Also, each time a monster hits you, it has a 5% chance of dealing double dmg, which would make even your run-of-the-mill hell Bloodlord deal a max of 556 dmg.

Would Hell Cows hit harder or softer than those ?

i asked that question a few days ago when i got 1-hit killed with ~800 life by tresh socket. probably amp+critical strike.

lister is kinda hard to rate since he got spectral hit iirc. and your usually under decrep when fighting him -> +50% physical
