View Full Version : Team of two
I haven't played D2 for couple of months and now decided to start again with a friend. So, we are going to start from the beginning and play untwinked and only with each other. My question is: what two characters should we choose? Which characters would co-operate well and support each other? I think it would be more interesting to choose some not-so-typical characters, I don't want to start some of those hammerdins, meteorbs and whirlers again.
Hope you understand, my english skills are at the same level with the famous finish formula1 driver Mika Häkkinen
edit: forgor to say that we are playing it hc, of course.
Fana Zealot and Skellymancer
Conviction Avenger and Trapper
Bunny Barb singer and ...whatever

Glad to know that your HC... since your posting in the HC FORUMS...
1st off, choose chars that you would enjoy playing. Especially since your gonna be playing untwinked.
If your looking for fun playing chars, non-cookie cutter (for the most part)...
Some choices
Pally : Cleric | Tesladin | Frost |
Barb : Singer | Leaper
Druid : Hunter
Assn : 2-H Swords (Samurai-Build)
Those are just a sample there are others that you can choose from... enjoy your adventures.
Fana Zealot and Skellymancer
Hmm, Skellymancer, never tried that one. Now I'm sounding like a total noobie (maybe I am), does those masses of skeletons cause lag?

Depends on the speed of your comp + Video... of course you might lag your partner...
Some say yes, I say no. Furyzons cause lag for me when they hit a screen full of cows...but even when I played with Full Trang summoners, herding 12 skells, mages and revives I was usually fine.
I mean, you will only be 2 ppl in the game apparently..and unless you play on dial-up or on a foreign realm you should be fine.
Things that I like about the Fana/Skell build: Nothing should stand in your way. You can have HF mercs and a Clay Golem that slow everything to a crawl, decrep monsters on top of that (removing PI even) while your own party frenzys away. The Paladin has loads of bodies to hide behind. If he wields a "Crescent Moon" weapon, he also statics everything down.
The only thing that would be missing is an Oak sage or BO...

I agree completely, skelemancer and fanatadin. perfect 2 player hc combo, especially if you dabble a little in the curses and safety auras (higher resists, life gain)...
but not too many points in those, just enough to save your hide when you need em. :D

Last season, I did basically the same thing with a friend of mine... Skellimancer + Blizzard Sorc, and it worked very well.
Another fun team (although not nearly as safe, and a bit gear-dependent) is a Plague/Fury/CS Javazon & Meteorb Sorceress... immunities? what immunities?
As for lag... for most people I've played with it's the mages & revives that cause the lag. If you stick to just skellies most of the time, the lag should be minimal. If you go with fanat, you won't need more than the skellies anyway... it's just sick how fast they kill.
Thanks for your answers! We started as skelliemancer and fana zealot and I'm pretty sure we will have lots of fun with this combo!

I was going to suggest a skellimancer and an enchantress, as when you are both done with those characters, i.e. bored, you can use the enchantress to give your new chars a big boost.

man, i bet that skelemancer combo with the orb sorc was aight... just a bit tougher against cold immunes... :\
