When the world event occurs it will spawn at the first superunique you encounter.
I guess if theres a superunique in the claw temple lvl 2 it could very well have been transformed into the Diablo clone, which by the way is not the regular diablo but is much harder to beat.
When the world event occurs ???
What does it mean??

Someone probably spawned it there on purpose so no one else would find it.
World Event is the "Diablo Walks The Earth" thing where Dclone/Uber D comes out. You know...? The guy who drops anni.

Blizzard used that as a teaser when the announced the latest patch. They said they were adding a "world event" that turned out to be the diablo clone.

I'm just guessing he was doing quests on Hell difficulty end did this on a hot server.
The world event.. There are people that sell soj's (stone of jordan) in a game on the same server that your game is on. When a certain count of soj's sold has been reached the "world event" occurs, you will notice the ground shaking and a little piece of text saying "Diablo walks the earth".
After this has happens the next superunique monster you encounter in your game will exchange places with a monster called the Diablo Clone.
This is a very strong version of Diablo and on death will drop an unique small charm called the "Annihilus".
diabloii.net has a page on it:

How lucky of you. I have not jet found him.

Dclone in claw viper 2, that's nasty. Or don't the flames/attacks get past the 'hill' in the middle, that would be nice (like the normal lightning enhanced balls)

It should be noted that the number of SoJs will vary with every game so if BigD's clone arrives after 50SoJs in one game, it may take more or fewer SoJs to get him to return in the next game.

The Diablo Clone is VERY tough to beat for someone who doesn't have a lot of game experience under his or her belt. You'll need lots of fire and lightning resistance, some good cold resistance, and some physical resistance. Bring lots of rejuvenation potions to the battle...you'll need them. Have a bunch of TP scrolls (town portal, not the other TP) ready. Make sure your will is made out to cash.
If you manage to slay this monster, he'll drop the only unique small charm in the game, the Annihilus. This charm, of which you can carry only one, grants you +10-20 all attributes, +5-10% all experience (very useful!), +10-20% all resistances (elemental, not physical or magical) and +1 to all skills. You have to be a level 70 to use this though you can pick it up at any level.

This last post my dear friends, is a slight understatement of Diablo's skills. He has incredible elemental and physical resistances, as well as a phenominal amount of life regeneration. My lvl87 bowazon was hitting him with arrows doing like 4.5K per at the 9/2 breakpoint, and couldn't get his life to drop to the "O" in his health meter before she got pimp slapped by his lightning.
DrunkCajun had to knock him out for me with his frost zealot after 20 minutes of excrutiatingly painful deaths :(
Max Resistances is a must-- max your resistances with charms and items, then see if you can get + to max resists items like a Guardian Angel. You will probably want a character who can get in close, as his lightning doesnt do damage at point blank range. You will want to have rejuv potions and prevent monster heal stuff on you and/or your merc (who'll definitely need the potions). Also-- Dwarf Stars have good fire absorb, which IMO is critical for facing him when he spawns with that fire attack and armageddon.
Hopefully, I'll have my fanat/zealot ready for him this weekend, and I'll think about hunting him... probably best to do him in act one instead of rakanishu though...

World Events occur in all LoD-HELL games on a server (ladder, nonladder, hardcore... doesn't matter). SOJs can be sold in any difficulty.
Yes, DClone always drop an anni. I've read that sometimes he doesn't, but for the time being I tend to assume those reports are wrong (they were posted on the diabloii.net site... which doesn't really have a clue about dclone anyway).

If you run into another Dclone, just give a call in the forums, probably community.
I have a few Chara. built for the sole purpose of defeating a Dclone, unfortunetly I have never found one. :hanky:

There is a glitch which prevents clone from dropping an anni. If you kill him too close to a free edge like next to a cliff, then the game thinks there is no ground on which to drop the anni .. kinda like when you kill wraiths over open space in the Arcane Sanctuary. Always make sure to kill him over open land.
