Inspiration please.

My Avenger (who was great fun) died last night through my own stupidity. The number of times I've lost characters by thinking that they have become invincible. (I know, I know, I don't need reminding!)

I'm thinking of making a new character tonight.

I'm don't really want a cookie cutter. I'm looking for a fun build and just plain weird. The Booyaka barb and the furysin sprang to mind. I doubt I'll take them to hell, so "uberness" is not really an option. Just plain old fun and slightly quirky and not "uber" gear dependent. Any suggestions ladies and gentleman?

How about a Witchyzon, mine is lvl 50 now and is a blast to play. Can't wait till I get to hell so I can see how she does there.

Maulamazon, two-handed.

All in passives with a strong Valk. 20 Valk, 20 Penetrate, loads in CS, D/A/E. Wear damage reduction /absorb gear like: Ironpelt/Gladiators Bane/Shaft, Amulet of life everlasting, SoE or TG, Wisp/Raven/Dwarf (whatever 2 are needed). Gaze or Tal mask etc etc... and the biggest meanest fastest weapon you can find. (the poor mans build uses SOL runes in every socket you have)

Add Defiance merc.

Or Necro-zon: Bloodravens Charge, Duress or Metalgrid, Nature's Piece..you know...stuff that surrounds you with a nice little army...Golem, Oak, Wolves, Revives. The re-charge costs will kill you though...5K per revive :lol:

Or you could be a cleric. Those are always fun, and a great party member too. Everyone will love you when you heal them :)

Hmmm, the Maulazon sounds like fun with good defence although I'm not too sure I've got the gear to keep the damage up.

Whats' the build on a Whitchyzon? I've played a cleric and they are good fun. I've thought about an undead only basher by using sancutuary and holy bolt.

I played her until the middle of NM solo (the ladder season ended then) and she was about lv 50. Some of the gear suggestion was stuff I thought about using as endgear and didn't even have it.

As long as I played her, she wore: Iron Pelt (DR and MDR), Amulet of life everlasting (DR 20), Sigons Gloves and Shoes, String, Guillaumes face (I think), Steeldriver.....DR, MDR; LL, IAS, CB....all the goodies you need

I'll have to wait till I get home to get the link for the Witchyzon but i'll give a brief description now.


Basically you end up using an upped WWS (Witch Wild String) with enuf ias to reach 9/3 or 9/2 fps using strafe. With the amp/peirce/cs it is a great killer and loads of fun. Right now I have...

non-upped WWS with 2 shaels
Duriels armor (soon to have ias jool)
Cats Eye
Sanders Boots/Gloves
Rare Helm
Rare Rings

She is loads of fun right now at 50 running NM up to act 4. Res are maxed also. With the ias i'll be putting in the armor I should be at 9/2 strafe.

The re-charge costs will kill you though...5K per revive :lol:

The cost of recharging Blood Raven's is tiny compared to Metalgrid... initial recharge cost on mine was well over 200k. I think it's in the neighborhood of 25k per Iron Golem, and they don't stick around game to game like a necro's Iron Golem. :(

I made a wws 9/2 strafazon through hell. She was fun through nightmare. Hell was a little more difficult. When the amp goes off the kill power is so-so. Without amp damage its pretty slow. If you're looking for a different experience I would say go for it.

I used LOH, stealskull, atmas (i felt the 2% was too low), 2shael upgraded wws, nosferatus, i think the rings were raven and carrion, 15ias armor self-made, forgot what boots she used maybe waterwalk. demonlimb on switch.

you need 86ias for 9/2

Crafted gloves can be incredibly nice, I had some with +skills, IAS and stuff. Otherwise LoH or Lavagout as they trigger enchant

Up'ed WWS, 2 Shaels

20 Strafe, 20 FA, 17 Valk, DAE around 50%, 1 CS, 1 penetrate, 9 (IIRC) Pierce

With Mightmerc (Guillaumes, Hone Sudan, Shaftstop), this worked like a charm, especially in Pit.

Come to think of it..its kinda "Cookie Cutter" and kind "item dependent" :scratch:

I must say, if you are interested in someone that can kill that bone necro when they come to hostile you... and is NOT an 'average' build... might i suggest a kicksin?

20 dtalon
20 venom
10-15 weapon block
any other skills you like, but i would suggest 20 in mind blast

not the best pvm, but pvp against casters you can destroy them!

and damage is based off of your shoes! woot! :D and great against superuniques and bosses... have to be careful tho, cuz youll need to pump vit... and your res will be pretty high with the right claws ;)
