socketing for IK set werewolf

Using Ik set, Jalals, raven frost, carrion wind, highlords wrath.

With 2 sockets in maul, one each in Jalals and armor, what would be be the most effective to socket in each.

Please note, I only have one ed/ias jewel (a 31/15).

Lightning and poison res are maxed, fire is about 50 and cold is below 20.

i am very tempted to say: trade 31/15 for a good (upped)ribcracker if you're ladder, because its not worth socketing it into IK set.

Hmm... I' wondering, why would anyone put 2 shaels in the maul? I used both the calculators and they agree the you get a 5 frame attack for 55% ias on a maul, but you need more than 80% for a 4 frame attack. As far as I can tell, a 4FPA is impossible with the IK maul, and socketing it with 15% or 20% doesn't make any difference either, so a jewel with a useful second mod would be better than a shael.

One area in which the IK maul might be better than the ribcracker is the potential to get lots of elemental damage when used with other IK set items. I havn't tested the practicality of that yet though.

Hmmm.

I probably should have been a little more specific in my first post.

I currently have maxed lyc, rabies, fury, oak, 1 pt. ravens to bear, rest in WW.

At level 87 now and his effectiveness went up dramatically as I pumped WW.

However the poison switch side with plague bearer is not very effective. If I can find/trade for one would deaths wand and a 4 socket poison facet monarch be the best option?

Non ladder by the way.

I guess I am just trying to get the maximum effect without the l337est :cheesy: of equipment.

For the record I think the IK set may be better on a shift druid than a barb...but I dont play barbs.

anyway, Ive dual shaeled my IK maul but Ive made a similar thread a while ago and someone said I didnt even need 1 shael to reach fastest fpa, when using Fury that is.

You are right of course. I had read that before but pretty much dismissed it (and forgot about it) as being insignificant at just a 3% difference to the total number of frames. It is a 'real' 3% though, as opposed to a +40% dmg jewel which would add far less then 40% to the total damage. Anyway, I thought an all resi jewel might be better since socket space is limited and res always seems to be a problem.

I thought the comment about pumping WW increasing the effectiveness was interesting. My fury druid (with wolves) still can't handle very many monsters at once. I wonder if WW would make any difference...

i like speed, and advise that to all druids.

i could solo hell without much problems with ik set. remember to keep your ar around 7k. may be thats the problem.
