I just found one of these, and I am intrigued. Level 87 requirement is kind of steep, though. Is it a waste of a socket to put a jewel of freedom in it? Also has anyone used one of these before? The stats look pretty good.

Jewels of freedom don't lower level requirements, just strength and dex. And if you don't like what's in the socket, just blow a Hel rune and unsocket it.

I found one of those a while back too. I just had to use it for something so my werewolf druid is using it now. It's decent. Sure there are better weapons out there but you can't beat that 75% crushing blow.

Its far too slow to use as a main weapon for most builds. The only effective way around that would be to pick a build that doesnt rely on the weapons attack speed {leap barb, charge pally}. Then you could socket it with something with more % ed, or a Lo rune if its for a charger.

Thanks for the input.

I think that WW is not affected by ias, so could it be a viable WW weapon?

If not I think that I will go the charge pally route.

whirlwind used to be independent from ias, but things have changed and it requires ias. It only recognizes ias from the weapon.
