I'm using Wild WitchString bow that is at 70% deadly strike and I have added a pair of Gore Riders to my gear that I just found which has another 15% deadly strike. I would like to know if the 2 stack and become 85% deadly strike.

Yes, DS stacks.

Capped at 95%.

Don't forget your own (amazon) Critical strike skill. However, like to everything else in LOD there is a formula involved which I am sure can be found when browsing the Amazon forum. IIRC Kirsty was always very clever at these formulae...

It's just conditional probability.

If you have both critical strike (via zon skill or a weapon mastery) and deadly strike (from items), both cannot trigger at the same time, but both will attempted.

% chance for double damage = (%chance for DS)+(1.0-%chance for DS)*(%chance for CS)

DD = (DS)+(1-DS)*CS

i was under the impression that it was calculated by trying for both without restricting how many will trigger.......

hypothetical situation........your skill does 50% and your gear does 50%.....that means 1/2 of the time you get critical (2x) dmg, 1/4 time you get normal (1x) dmg , and 1/4 time you get double critical (4x) dmg.

roy: it used to work like that but it was changed for 1.09 or 1.08 (not sure which) such that 4x damage never happens. Pretty much.... its like you said except in the case that both deadly AND critical trigger, only one of them applies.

50% deadly strike and 50% critical strike give overall 75% chance to have double damage. ;)

the way deadly and critical strike calculated is: chance for critical say 50% from skill if that hits then it stop if it misses then it goes to deadly like 85% that you have. So your chance for double damage is 50%+50%*85%=92.5%
All items/skills that have critical strike or deadly strike are added together. So basically if you make a char and want to get high % chance of landing double damage try and find items that are all 1 type.

No No No you guys have it all screwed up. Pack that thing with 40 weight and ball bearing and Ill be back to explain it later. OK here is how it works:
Conduct an anti-differntiation of the figure of merit for DS and apply a Laplause Transform utilizing square signature rootology. The inverse result yeilds a base 8 "Golden Rule" plenograph, which is really just the hyperbolic triganometric extrema of the function, but I didn't have to tell you guys that. Zeno's Paradox is clearly applicable here.
Hope this helps.
