I just spent 2 hours trying to offload some 38 chipped gems, just to find out that recipe was removed :cheesy:

How is a low lvl (19) supposed to buy his Sigon pieces now?

Man... serves me right for taking sucha long break

:buddies: no reason for this smiley, just made me laugh *hehe*

heh im in the same boat. I was moderatly wealthy before I took a break but my account went poof and I gotta restart from scratch :(

Pgems still seem to have some value. but after solo leveling to 24 ive only asembled a single perfect amnethist

I guess you just gotta get a character to run normal meph runs for starter gear (a druid or barb would probally be best)

Wow, lot of people coming back to diablo.

I saw cleglaw_himself in a game today. Gave him a cleglaw sword. Just thought it was fitting.

I hope he is ok. Sword is sharp and pointy, it is. Don't cleglaw yourself!

I started out with a lit trapper in season one. Stealth armor. Ancient pledge. Trap claw (shopped). Couple blue mana rings. Awesome killing power with very "noob" items. I upgraded to 4 socket ptopaz armor and 3 socket ptopaz helm later on. woot! :thanks:

The new currency are runes, PUL and above trade best.

SC of Vita and Skillers are also like money in the bank.

Poor mans currency are now PGems. You won't have them at lv 19, but they can even help you to get stuff in the exceptional range.

That said, I should be able to spare a few Sigons pieces (Gloves, belt, boots). *det-1 *det-3

Ahhh, so that was you kenshinlod!

Thx for the sword. I'm hoping to make a high lvl charger, once I find some stuff.

Just wanted to sneak onto East to see what it was like.

I'm not supposed to be playing... as I quit 3 months back lol.

Damn soulstone has regenerated...

*pets the new people*

They are so cute and fluffy!!! Can we keep them? :innocent:

Pgems are the currency BUT another route which migh go quicker at your levels is to trade your 9 and 10 small life charms, 9 & 15 max dmg jewels, and lld stuff like that.

You could prolly get your whole sig set for a 10 life lvl 14 charm. The 9 max's also trade high, especially if you have 2 or 3 of them.

Once you get a few little charms and jewels put them up on the trade board and tell people you are just restarting and need all the basic starter gear again. Those Doolorz are usually loaded and will pay well for their needs ... I think it is along the theory of "feed the baby fishies now so that I can catch bigger tastier ones later"
:D

actually chipped are nice to make lld items, especially one handed ones. save chippies, and start cubing assassin claws untill you have massive eth blade talons of carnage with 2 sockets. then sell for a whole lotta gear.

Chipped Gems + 1 Magic Weapon = Socketed Magic Weapon
This adds sockets to a magic weapon. The original magic weapon properties will be removed (rerolled) when the new weapon is created. If you use this formula with a weapon that is not normally socketed such as a Javelin, this recipe will create a new magical weapon without any sockets. ilvl=25 magic weapon with 1-2 sockets.

chippies are good for upgrading runes too.

Also going through the restarting process on Europe (now 37 on my one character, a fireball sorc) and my plan is pretty much to run normal Baal until I get a couple dozen pgems, then shop what I need to mf nightmare Andariel.

Of course, I only play in Europe when I'm realm down on east, so it's a slow process.

If you don't want to test your luck with Mephisto, Diablo, or the Ancients (all three nearly killed me, but I was soloing everything), running the high council for gems/jewels/charms is probably your best bet.

Chipped sorc recipe:

Take a 3 soc breast plate, add 3 blue chipped.
Take a 3 soc mask, add 3 red chipped.
Add some str grand charms, an eagle orb +2 fireball and a shield, preferably + mana or res.
Stir them all togetter on a lvl1 sorc. The sorc can be plain or rushed, its all a matter of personal taste.

Lvl for 10 minutes in a full game. Change breast plate and mask for flawed ones. Maybe add a better eagle orb.

This way you save your skills, not need to put in skills, you safe them for later. +2 fireball goes a long way in the low regions of the game, clean out the den in a full player game, thats probably over lvl 5 in ten minutes.

Do not rush to the sewers or something, from the last wp to andy gets you from lvl 9/10 to 15 atleast, in an 8 player game ofcourse. Add skill as we go along, ad lib.

You can keep this up till you can use Pgems, thats alot of life and mana without putting any points in stats. From lvl18 clean out arcanes, your a2 merc will lvl like mad aswell, not to mention those amazing lowlvl charms and jewels that will drop.

Feel free to add a 4 soc gothic at 70 str. For the last lvl's go to a3, ancients at 24 and there you have it, a sorc ready for Eld and Shenkruns, again in full or close to full games.

At lvl29 you dress her up in some good stuff and do some solobaalruns. Lvl 42 will be there in notime, rince repeat in NM.

What I do is load the following gear onto a new character . . .

Ravenclaw
Death's Gloves
Death's Sash
Hsarus' Boots
Sander's Boots
Angelic Rings
Angelic Amulet
Twitchthroe
Biggin's Bonnet
Horadric Cube

. . . I join a game with my chanter and the new character and give the character gold and a bow and some arrows. I then give the character Stony Field, Dark Wood, Black Marsh, and Catacombs level 2. I enchant the new character and let him run around in Dark Wood, then go to Stony Field, get Cain, then to Black Marsh and the Forgotten Tower. After that I go to Catacombs level 2 and fight my way down to Andariel. By this time I'm usually level 15. Then I go to act 2, give the new character Far Oasis and Lost City waypoints, then rechant the new character. I then get the shaft and amulet, then go to arcane, find the summoner, kill him, then go to canyon.

After that I go kill Duriel and go to act 3. By this time I am usually level 20-21. I go back to act 1, make cows with the leg I got and clear the cow level. You can unparty with the enchanter and go kill the king and no stamina potions will drop so you can kill him again if you would like. After clearing cows I am atleast level 24 or 25. I leave the game with my enchanter and come back with my high level orb sorc and finish the power act to act 5 and do ancients, giving the new character Frigid Highlands, Crystalline Passage, and Worldstone Level 2 waypoints. Then I baal to atleast level 40 then head to nightmare.

If it's an orb/blizzard sorc I'll leave at around 36-37 and go run nightmare Andariel and the boss packs on the way down for a while just to have some fun. After three or four days I'm level 80 and in hell baals or whatever. This is only if I want to rush through the game though... sometimes it's fun to play through, utwinked or not.

^^ the problem is the dude doesn't have those starters items and can't rush himself.

sometimes i trade for chips when i used to cube runes like crazy. also used to give like three pieces of sigons for a perfect gem, don't really do it anymore as it takes too long to find a buyer.

occasionally you can just ask for sigon set pieces in trade and people will give them to you. other than that i just made a char and did runs for newb gear. and pgems generally sell well for pul runes.

It was all much needed, been out of the loop so long I forgot how to barter :P

However, That dirty old bastard at the desert rain finally paid up and gave me a rare Giant Sword w/ the following:59% ED, +8 max, 5% chance @ Amp on striking, 17% lightning resist, something ar. w00t!!! I now have killing power, rest of my stuff still bites (cept for the gorefeets that rakanishu gave me) but at least now I can make it through act 2 w/o worrying

Lightning edit... I was combining swords :P

Yeah, what I would do if I was poor would be this . . .

1) Make a new char.
2) Kill things.
3) Find itamz.
4) Be rich.

Vague... yes.
Helpful... no.

It takes a while to get up the riches, but by picking up every little thing and selling it I have enough gold to snag some decent items from shops, like belts of the whale and mana/fcr wands for my new sorcs. I'll usually aim at getting the following:

'Stealth' in Studded Leather or Quilted Armor or something.
'Ancients Pledge' in a Kite Shield or Large shield.
6X+ mana/20% FCR wand shopped in act 4 or act 5.
Gambled helm/boots/gloves/belt for resistances. Usually a life belt from Larzuk.

After 50 or so normal baal runs I'm up and running for nm questing.

Usually takes me a while to reach step 4. I like to.. how should I say this.. place my sorc in dangerous situations, such as running hell Meph with a Razorswitch, Shako, and Lionheart as my only good items. Go go 10 cold res in hell. It usually pays off though. I guess that's why I'm Lucky.

Edit: Added a point to this post.

Yeah I got bored one day and took a screenie and colored him in. I used to have an act 4 stash there, but that was boring. I think I'll change it soon though.. :)
