I found an ETH Gimmershred last night with near perfect stats. My question is, since it's a throwing weapon and the ETH mod won't allow you to repair it (duh), if you use it strictly as a melee hand axe, will it ever break providing it's never thrown? The one hand damage is roughly 75-300 and the elemental damage is quite big. Is this a viable one handed weapon to use?

When used as Melee weapons, throwing weapons don't lose durability since they have none, but they do lose quantity. So eventually it would break even if used as strictly melee.

I think it's at 1/3rd the normal rate, if I remember correctly. Or it was at one point.

In fact throwing weapons do have a durability, it just isn't displayed.
If you use them in melee, they will "break", one at a time, after losing each one's full durability (so it isn't very fast).

When you repair them, they are fine of course. However, your eth ones certainly will run out eventually. Note also that this affects eth replenishing weapons like eth Titans too. Replenish will replace thrown Titans but not broken ones. If you use eth Titans in melee you will slowly reduce the stack size that they can replenish to, eventually using them up as well.

"Replenish will replace thrown Titans but not broken ones"

this is wrong... in 1.10 even if ur eth titans break(reach 0 in stack), they still replenish. It wasnt like this in 1.09 I heard, anyways its a bug thats been fixed in 1,10.

What about if quantiny is used by pure melee combat?

When you throw all your Titans until they run out, they will replenish back. "Replenish will replace thrown Titans". Just because they get down to 0 quantity and show as red doesn't mean they are broken. Yes, they did fix this since 1.09, where replenish would not work on an empty stack even if you threw them empty.

If you use them in melee until the last one breaks, replenish will not work. This will take a while, probably, because thrown ones will still replenish, but it will happen eventually with eth Titans.

My advice is to make a furysin or trade this item to someone who plays one. Great item for that build and it won't ever run out.

ok i have a lf/cs zon who uses etheral upped titans. my question is: even if you use as melee( when using cs), how will they eventually break...like this forum suggests? ive done some testing in hell cows and and even after meleeing alot,my stack size always goes back to full amount(140 iirc). someone plz tell me
the answer to my questions....as i dont want my ethy titans breaking......but i love to use cs also....with my testing....i can still have both. am i right???

Because Titans replenish faster than a player can take away when meleeing. Continously throwing LFs and stuff can make Titans run out of quantity.

right..i understand that. so basicly my etheral titans wont break when meleeing
unless the quanity is real low. (like when the red icon is in the upper right of the screen) As long as thats the case then im good.....i have a regular pair of titans on switch in the event this happens. thx for the help
