Expiration rules changed?

I just made a new char today and after muling on her future twinks I noticed the roster screen shows her set to expire in 6 days ... wasn't it always 10?

I joined a game with her and when i took her back to the roster it said 7 days.

Bnet is punishing procrastinators?

Eh...I just created a character to check and it still said 10 days.

Did you accidentally change the date on your computer? If it was changed then it would show your time v b-net time so if you have 3 days fast then b-net sees your clock and its clock and says you have 7 days instead of 10. Thats only thing I can think of.

Errr, what? Are you saying that the clock for the characters is kept by the local comp, and not the server? So if one were to change the internal date to 10 days from now, the characters would instantly expire? And if I set the date to last year, can I just avoid the whole burn-in process altogether?

And those fishes, will they become floaters if the computer date is wrong? Or do they just stink?

edit: these are the kinds of things that will just keep nebby up at night, pacing.

This is plain weird cause if I refresh an unburn't ( nope I don't chargrill 'em ) char, I get 11 days till it expires.

My funny wife changed the compclock once, and all my chars where expired, however i could still use them as normal chars. So the clock is used for a reference only, they would still expire for real on the severs with the year putback.

Hmm, i should have said that more clearly i think. :lol:

I think I know what you mean. Characters will expire in 10 days regardless of what it reads. What it reads is based on your computer clock. So say you have 10 days for it to expire and your computer clock makes it say 6. After 6 days it will say it's expired, but you really have 4 more days until it actually expires.

yeah one time i logged on and all my characters were expired. But i could still use them. Then one day it fixed itself... it never occured to me that it was related to the clock setting :P!!
