I think there's ample discussion on this. The long and short of it is this: No one knows. It's all up to Bliz. May be within the next week or in 6 months.

I'm guessing the latter.

Several months still to go most probably. Last one went from release of 1.10 in late October 2003 until early July this year, that's over 8 months and this season has been going on now only 4 months so I guess it's too early to start speculating on new ladder season.
