A small MF poll... just cuz

So, after a billion runs... no not really... but after a lot of runs, I still haven't found an SS.

So my question is, how many runs did you do (hell Mephisto this is), before you found your first SS?

I know, we're working with approximations for the most part, which isn't terribly accurate, but try. I'm going to guess really low, and say I've done somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000 runs including last ladder, without a single SS (I've probably done double that, but without counting, who can say?). I've counted doing over 200 this past week, and I've had several weeks that I know I did more.

i never really mfed much i nhc but in sc with my oldschool nova sorc, i had about 500 mf and although my first ss was not my find directly( funny way i found it, i was in cow level and some guyu was isolated and i was teleporting by and say a yellwo monarch on the ground he was juggling and took it :lol: ) but then after about 600-800 total mf runs, i found another, along with much other stuff.

I've yet to see an SS from meph.
I've never seen one in baal runs (including baal...I've seen him die at least 1000 times, his minions far more).
I've never found one in E/S, probably in however many of those runs it takes to go from 77-88.
I've never seen one in the CS, albeit I think I only did about 400 of those.
I've never seen one just generally playing, and I spend a lot of my time generally playing, (IE not a single one in my entire 08-09 playing time)

I've only seen one from pindle, and that's the only one I've ever found.

I'm not complaining about my MF luck though, I've found plenty of stuff to trade for the few SS I've had reason to use in my D2X career. I mean of something like 10 maras that I've ever found, only 1 of them was under 26, just as an example.
The one that really bothers me is SoJ, playing since day one and I'm yet to find (or even gamble >_<) a single one of those.

I found my only ss from act 5 somewhere.

Well, I'm not specifically looking for an SS, rather noting the lack thereof. It's kind of hard not to notice when you don't hit one half of the Mephisto ubaH droppage combo (he drops Shako & SS every other run, ya know?)

In fact, I think SS is extremely over-rated trash, but hey! if I can find some extremely over-rated trash that I can trade for a pair (yes two!) pally combat skillers, I'd be more than happy with that. :cheesy: :drink:
(disclaimer: no SS is not bad on the right character, but the fact that people think they can throw it on any build an make that build good seems somehow wrong to me.)

ss is only over-rated if you dont want to spend that much str or need more resistances as from a mosers or something..

Baal has never dropped me one. I was in an AB game, however, and was clearing the ancient tunnels with a summoning necro. Low and behold, a gold monarch drops. Luck was with me that day too as I won the lottery on it!

ive never ever found one..ive seen it drop ONCE in 1.9 in cow lvl..some nova sorc were lucky!

Saw the second drop in a GAT Baal run.

Probably easier for me to find an IST and trade for it. The path to hell meph scares me, I am practicising in NM now and I am already worried why my teleporting sometimes does not "register" (I just stay where i am), so I usually kill S/E, Dac Farren, Raikanishu, clear pit, do Andy, progress as far as possible in WSK etc...

Skullders, Shako, Tals Mask and Skin..all usefull stuff..just never a SS.

Hmm... the number of SS found at meph, over the years, that must be over 30.

I kinda overdid Meph when it was still possible, i had lvl 96 sorc's leveled purely on a mephdiet. Of all the things meph can drop the only thing i didnt see drop was an arcaine's valor, all the rest he dropped for me, including ist rune.

Only Arcaine's I ever witnessed to drop was also in a GAT game..from Hell Baal. A +2 at that.

I did over 5K meph runs in 1.09 and never found a Stormshield from him! I did, however, find 5-6 in other places.. In season 1 I found my first on a hell baal run like 2 weeks into the season with my conc baba. Joy. I've found tons since then... I love the 1.10 drop rate.

2 SS dropped for me in 1200-1500 meph runs last season

none have dropped for me in around 400 runs this season.

i found one off some random boss in cs.

however meph was nice enough to drop me a perfect maras, right after i got a perfect unique balrog skin (1st time for both!). yeah, i'm feeling somewhat lucky.

From mephisto - NEVER in my 3 year BN career :) I found two SS from Pidle hell, though.

I found 2 ss within probably 4-500 hell meph runs this season doing the first drop thing and have foudn 3 total. Also found 4 snarkos in this time with between 270-340 mf

I have found 4 in less than 500 runs (yes...I got very very lucky) But I also find tons of chit.....like civerbs, demon limbs and archs, islestrikes yadda yadda yadda......I have been lucky with skullders though....3 in the same amount of runs.

In 1.9 Meph could drop arcaines, 1.10 i dont know.

Well, still no SS, but last night Mephisto saw fit to drop me something just as good...

ive gotten a jah from the cow king and an ist from a rock in the cow level in 09 sc..

I saw a Lo drop once in an 8 player baal run...I didn't get it.
The ONLY other rune I've ever seen on the ground over Um (not counting HF of course) was an Ist in .09 on the WSK2.
Fortunately at the time Ist was more or less the most expensive legit item in existence.
