why i cant look eth?

i saw barb that look eth, he told me that the reason he looks eth is because
he use spirit ward shield, now i got 1 and i dont look eth :(
what is the problem and if he lie what item make me to look eth?

You have to wait for the fade to trigger. Fade is what is making him look eth.

The shield has a mod called “5% Chance To Cast Level 8 Fade When Struck” it is the Fade that turns you Eth. So every time you get hit you have a small chance to cast Fade. All you need to do in order to cast Fade, and become Eth, is get hit a few times.

If you find a wand of polymorph you can polymorph yourself into an assassin (you'll want to use a ring of polymorph control, or some other PC source, preferably). Then you can wear Natalya's set, which make you look ethreal all the time.

you no look eth cuz you have wait for to trigger the fade on shield which you though you be eth when you wear but no true..have to wait, it very disappointing but it cool to see once in while no?

My opinion is... it is GOOD that u get fade when struck and not when u equip shield simply bkuz why would u want to wear a spirit shield on any char????

so switching to spirit ward and going to cold plains, getting hit and re-equip SS or Darkforce or watever ur char uses... obviously not DF on barb lol... is good :P

spirit ward is ownz vs ama, traps and foh because he give u with um like 50-55 resist to all.

Well, No one ever looks at anything other than a stormshield.. but a spirit ward is an awsome shield. Up to 79% blocking for a barb, 30-40% resist on the shield, Numerical Cold absorb, and for someone who get's hit a lot (like a zerker) fade is pretty much always on anyway, which at level 8 is 71% curse length reduction, an additional +50% to all your resistances, it lasts for 204 seconds, in which time a zerker or similar 'frequently struck' type of character is bound to have it trigger again.. + it will give an additional 8% PDR when it's on.

All in all I'd say its a damn good shield.. there are shields out there other than a stormshield... if you can max your PDR somewhere other than on the shield a spirit ward is a very viable choice..
