in pvp do physical, elemental and spell all 1/6 or is there different ratios.
I know for sure elemental, magic and physical all use roughly 1/6 as the penalty. Can't say for sure if poison does since I have never tested it myself.

I don't recall teh exact fraction for the dmg reduce for psn but I remember it's bugged and it does more that 1/6.
A bug in d2? You're crazy ;)

Actually based on other peoples testing in hell there is an additional -100% poison time reduction so when people were testing they didn't realize and they thought the pd was less than 1/6th but they found out it's 1/6th like the rest.
d2 is t3h bugz0rz fr33zors and dupez0rz fr33zorz and pvp is t3h b@|@nc3d!1one!11!
And in NM poison length is increased by 40% without any PLR items.
And I'd hate to say this, but the PvP penalty is 17%, and not 1/6th. Hardly any difference, but 1/6th is technically wrong.

I thought ppl said somewhere physical was 1/8, traps or other summoned shooters (how to say that :D) 1/6 and elemental 1/4.

Which is why I said "roughly" :) The damage differences between 17% and 1/6 are basically insignificant, and 1/6 is much easier to use in everyday pvp dmg calculating.

RTB you missed the question :D is poison damage included, or not?

Yes poison damage is 1/6th but there is extra +%time your poisoned based on the difficulty like resist. Last I heard it was 0 40 100, so like if you've got venom doing say 200 damage over .4 seconds it's really 400 poison over .8 seconds. (I think....)

psn rate is effected by the pvp penalty (17%)

The difference would only be a few points, yes, but out of habit I stick to what the game does, which is multiplying with 0.17 when dealing with all forms of PvP damage.

+% Poison dmg only increases the rate, but -% poison res lowers both the poison resistance and poison length reduction of enemies.

does fade have any effect on poison length?
does fade have any effect on poison length?
It reduces the poison length by the stated amount, if it was active when the poison was applied.

is tao of poison still valid?
is poison damage limited to the shortest duration or is it something special about venom?

i just tested this with chewie on uswest.
i have slvl 4 fade wich grants -62% length.
his 50 second psn jav lasted 50 seconds.. it didnt help with that psn at all.
i was trying to see if fade worked like clensing,,, the auras -psn length effect comes AFTER PLR: ie a second length reduction..... but since it didnt do anything at all, we coulndt tell.
the tao is pretty much still valid other then some minor changes to psn lengths on items.
the pvp penalty now applies to rate... and missle applications are no longer buged.. so just us the melee portion of the calculator
as for ur 2nd question im too confused by it to give an answer
