Not nearly enough damage.

Low damage, Its perfect for an IUB ( intentionally underpowered build )
Or you can max out holy fires synergies, and then equip an hand of justice caddy and use fanat or conviction as your main aura and do pretty decent damage.

Actually fire rangers rock and a lot of people don't understand the numbers. A properly equipped fire ranger could get through Hell 4 players solo and make a meaningful contribution to an 8 player game.

As Royalesse stated a fire ranger can be powerfull.
I havent tried one myself but the numbers add up if you use a Kuku shakaku unique bow as an example. This bow fires explosive arrows and has inbuilt piercing. Together with razortail this will get a ranger 83% pierce.
The fire damage from the arrow will count twice once hitting a target.
Once from the arrow hitting, and once from the explosion splash damage.
Lets imagine a fully synergized holy fire at lvl 26 doing an average of 1130 fire damage. 2 monsters lined up
1.) monster #1 takes 2260 damage from arrow and explosion, monster #2 takes 1130 damage from explosion. arrow pierces and continues to monster #2.
2.) Monster #2 takes 2260 damage from arrow and explosion, monster #1 takes 1130 damage from explosion.
Total fire damage to both monsters from one shot = 3390.
If the explosion is large enough to cover 3 monsters the damage potential may be even higher.

Another thing to consider about HF is that Fire is the most common immunity in the game.
