View Full Version : ~zealot setup, a lil different gear, want to see if its viable;

I'm considering putting some gear back onto my first 1.10 zealot. He was a low str build, who used enigma, but i dont really want to use one on a zealot atm. I'm really leaning towards a ds/cb build instead.

Also, i've never been too fond of using a crown on any build. And most of my gear might be a bit off, because i rarely play any form of paladin {as of 1.08, i had 1 v/t & 1 ranger, 1.09 i still had that 1 v/t, and as of 1.10 i've only made one zealot which i'm speaking of here}. So my paladin playing experiance is at an all time low.

{i'm a druid fanatic, and i've spent the most of my dueling time with a fury druid, which i'm guessing is closely related to a zealot in stats, so if i mess something up, please correct me}

For gear;
~2 socket near perfect giant skull w/ 2x ber {would the kb be bad manner for ch duels? / would it hurt my overall effectivness if i walk up to the guy after hes kicked back? / or would shift zealing be better? {does that work as it does with druids & fury?}

~214% eth carapace w/ -req/all res jewel {great deffense, sexy black goes great with giant skull, but should i resocket it?}

~highlords {pentagram shaped...must have style...sorry :lol: }
~2x raven frosts, possibly switch's when i duel others

~silence phaseblade/zerker + hoz on weapon switch for casting holy sheild & dueling elemental base attackers. {would a zerker or phase blade be best for this?}

Possible gear i'm not sure about;
~gore riders if i need more % deadly strike & cb & ow.
~verdungos if i need more % dr / +vita, or possibly a good blood belt
~stormsheild, eth up'ed hoz, alma? {if i use storm, which i most likely will, i wont need a verdungos, eth up'ed hoz would mean i'm at a loss of % dr, same with alma...not sure which would be best here}
~steel rends or good blood gloves {i'm not too fond of rends...what would possibly be better between these?}

And lastely the weapon...
I have a good ebotd zerker made froma 9% superior that i'm rerolling till i get it above 400%, but i'm not a big fan of ebotd's in general. I'm not too sure if i can get my hands on an eth death cleaver being that i'm 99% nL. A rune master might be easier, but i'm not seeing many people talk about using on as i looked threw some earlier threads here. Would an eth 5 socket one with a zod be a good idea? And if so what would be put in the other sockets?

I also have a fury zerker axe and a fury ettin axe laying around from 1.09, but i'm not sure if those are still "good weapons."

For now the gear that i'm considering would be;
~the listed gaint skull
~the listed carapace
~listed amulet & rings
~listed weapon switch
~storm sheild {socket?}
~a good crushing blow belt
~" " gloves
~whatever weapon i can get my hands on...most likely use a fury zerker untill i find something better. I'd rather use it over an ebotd...

I wont have much %deadly strike with this set up unless i get a deathcleaver...but i should have a nice load of crushing blow.

Few final q's; does shift zeal work as shift fury? Would the kb from my helm be bad manners in ch duels / would it hurt my overall effectivness? Would it cancel out the cb from a good charge?

Any ideas or general suggestions would be great. Thanks all in advance~~

Knockback will hurt you, not help you.

Why not use guilg helm? 35% crushing, 15% deadly, fhr, str.

You also need some ar boosting items (hsarus/angelic)

True, though I feel that sacrificing an amu and ring slot is better then a belt and boots, you lose valuable mods.

EDIT: Oh, if you're using Eth Deaths Cleaver you'll need to make up some IAS, using Magnus' Sharkskin Gloves and Guilliames face may be a good idea to help solve that efficently.

I have to disagree with that statement. You can get better mods from the ring and ammy spot than you can from belts and boots. It's all a matter of preference.

and yes, a eth 5 soc,zoded rune master is my new fav weapon, put some ed/ias if you can afford, or some shael/ohms. and another cheap alternative is to put two eths in it along with any other mods you can afford
