View Full Version : Forgive me, SP Forumites, For I have Sinned...
I got onto Act 5 the other day with my Fire Sorceress. Then the fire immunes struck. Fire Immune Quill Rats, Fire Immune Slayers, heavily Fire Resistant Burning Dead Archers... I finally snapped and... Teleported ahead without completing quests and without even a full clear! *gasps*
I have a whole map unexplored! So many treasures could be there but I can't get at them! I did this for 2 maps and its killing me - thinking how many goodies I missed. I am now on Crystiline Passage. Cold Immunes! BWHAHAHAHA! *strikes them down with a Meteor*
*utterly despises Act 5*

Hehe, I think you're overreacting. I mean, I duped at least half a dozen zods and stuff and I never bothered to make a thread about it. ... What? ... What? :teeth:

Meh, full clear is fine, but if you are on your 100th time, it's simply boring.
Thread reported. I hope the mods will ban this h4x telepr0tter for good :grrr:

I did it with gloams in act 4 once. It really made me feel awful. I am not a full clear kinda guy, but I must kill every monster I happen to find - exception made to teleporting imps. Well, matter of fact, after saving the barbs, I am used to run accross every open area right to the caves in A5. I find them boring to death.

Uhmmm..,you think teleporting past an Act is bad? My last sorc did all of Hell in less than 3 hrs...

hahahaahaha!
Just remember, after you kill all the nice cold immunes in the cave levels, you have to deal with the ancients!
That will give you a real reason to hate act 5!

I never do full clears. Killing stuff is over-rated.
But if you're doing full clears for the exp it's not worth it. Just kill the special monsters and their minions and you'll end up with the same amount of EXP as if you had have killed every other monster too due to.... some reason, I don't know why, but there was a post about it at GO or SPTN.

Interesting, mind pm me the link to that post?

I'm not sure whether non-members have access to the section it's in but I'll PM you the link anyway. It's actually a guide to leveling characters up, but it mentions the boss/champion thing.
wow, a single tree sorc thinking of doing a full clear?! i wouldn't even think about that in 1.09.

He used Ith Teleport!
Actually you gain a significant amount more doing full clears rather than clearing just champions/superuniques.
Of course sam is a nub.
And Durf, it's Ith telapr0t. :o

sigh, at least durf made me laugh :)

I'm not the only one that thinks that! Yay!
*feels ashamed at being a dirty little 7373p04734*
Well I feel slightly mollified by doing a full clear of the Crystalline Passage and Frozen River. I just feel like I cheated the game somehow by teleporting past those monsters. It's just... Annoying that I was weak enough to do that rather then battling through. *pouts*
Think of it this way, they were not worth your time so you decided to go after something worth more of a challenge
I'm not ashamed to admit that some of my hideously under powered characters have had to turn tail and run by some parts. I just like to tell myself that some of hell's minions aren't worth the effort, that they'd never amount to anything more than an El anyway.

It could be worse, you should have seen my Frenzy barb in act 2 hell the other day, sorrounded by physical inmunes and without any significant elemental damage! Of course, one of the nice things of Frenzy is the increased run/walk speed... :D
My javazon basically fled from every lightning immune in hell until the merc got a Reaper's Toll from Diablo. Quite humiliating but it was too frustrating trying to kill them with the equipment I had at the time.
Like Ragnarod, my whirlbarb had issues in Act 2 Hell. Everything seems to be either unleechable, or mana burn. I think I leaped past every monster between the Arcane Sanctuary WP and Duriel's Chamber.
I like to kill every monster I run across if I can, but I'm not one of those people who has to kill every single monster, no matter how appalling their mods are.

If not for the fact that practically all my best items have come from chests and champions, and very few from Meph/Baal/Andy, I'd be tempted to not full clear. But when Hell Diablo drops Razortines, you just get kind of...ticked.
Whew! I thought from reading the title that you'd only buttered one side!
It was actually tourneys that stopped me doing full clears of everything. I still try to kill every monster I see, unless it's just too dangerous. Of course, playing HC (and not being a great HC player) I have a good reason for that.

Yeh no worries man... all of my character have one baddy or so that they would just rather avoid than fight. With so many Pats and Mats, I find that I just try to get through the difficulties as fast as I can.
