First the golf try-outs and now the football too.

*sighs*

Well I hope you were at least doing something fun.

Tell them you are addicted to online gaming and need their help and support to get through this troubled time.

Tuff **** bud you screwed it and the faster you realize it and stop this stupid crap the faster you will get on track!

You dug the grave, we didnt, and you are the only one that is going to fix your problems by stopping them!

Your best bet is to be honest, bite the bullet, pay the price and big for forgiveness and dont let it happen again........otherwise give up and quit, because skipping practice, or the tryouts just simply shows when it comes down to it you dont give a damn.

Stimm, it's because your starting to realize that they are actual repercussions out there, and if u try to avoid them... they will come back @ you, 10 fold.

Riebs, I have 2 agree with Stinger... Just suck it up and be prepared...

how would YOU feel if you had taken the steps to make it to football practice only to hear a teammate lie and make excuses for not being at the previous one?

if you love to do something, you do it -- the fact that you "skipped out" on football practice tells me you really dont give a crap about practice or your teamates

those guys were depending on you to be there -- you failed them -- you failed yourself

dont insult them further by feeding them apack of lies -- it would be more respectful if you actually showed up on time and kicked them all in the balls

Holy schmoley guys, go easy on the fella. He skipped football practice, which last time I looked, wasn't a crime. It's not like he kicked a goat or stole all of Cy's cookies.

I think the word 'overreaction' is apt, don't you?

Hey Riebs, maybe you can just tell em that were helping an old lady who was being mugged by a gang of escaped criminals. I use that one all the time. It's amazing how gullible people are

Well if you recalled Riebs other post complaining how he didn't make the golf team as he skipped the first day of tryouts you would know this is a recurring pattern. Clearly all the advice, such as it was, given before didn't make any difference. Thus the less patient replies this time.

BTW my advice was to tell the truth.

I didn't see his previous post. Well, that makes all the difference. Lets find out where he lives and knock some sense of responsibility into him

I am 36 yrs old, if my son came to me with this "post" I would of told him the same damn thing only by God I garuntee it would of been more harsh and I may of drag his *** down there and make sure he paid the price for his stupidity and screwing over his team.

There a good reasons out there for missing somehtign like this and sure even when that happens it hurts the team a bit, but you just cant avoid some of these. This was a choice to say "screw it, screw them..etc" I dont want to practice.

You want to be part of a team there are rules to be followed and by God follow them or take a freaking hike!

I can not only take the parents point of view here as I can also take the point of view of a coach and a team mate as I have seen this crap before.

So, couldnt wait a couple more hours to watch cartoons?, Diablo? Smoke a Joint? Sleep? Didnt want to miss your Soaps?

Blaa.....wake the hell up..........  <-----cant be typed enuff!

It's just foot ball practice. Where he obviously isn't mature/responsible enough to fess up and take it, he made the choice. Why should he come here for help?
My advice? Don't worry about it.
I skipped Bio yesterday, and I have parent-teacher confrences tonite, I don't really care. If it gets brough up then I will fess up, if it doesn't then I'll just let it slide.
I don't see why you are stressing this so much. It's one practice. It doesn't make THAT much of a difference does it? Seriosuly...
Now, if this is a regular occurence then you might as well quit the team. Because, soon practices turn into games, and games turn into school classes, and classes into full days. You might as well hang yourself. Wanna use my noose?

Bio you likely have to take. If not your not showing pretty much only hurts you.

football is voluntary and a team sport...he chose to play and his team is counting on him to show up for practice...his not showing up hurts the team...

Then again maybe Riebs just makes this stuff up to laugh at the ranting that inevitably ensues

At what point does taking responsibility for your actions become important? 1 skipped practice? 2 skipped practices? . . . When is it not alright to be selfish and self-centered (hmm, perhaps when you are part of a team)?

Riebs made a decision that has placed himself in a position he doesn't want to be in. His solution is to formulate a lie to use as an excuse to avoid whatever consequences his decision will bring upon him. Stinger, myself and others have no sympathy for this type of behavior. Grow-up!

Riebs, if you don't want to read this kind of response then don't post the thread. You have proven to those who are aware of your other postings that the first time was not the cure. You have made a similar mistake and you are still doing whatever you can to avoid responsibility.

If Riebs took Cy's cookies, no excuse would save him... there would be a contract taken out on him.

I'm pretty sure Cy's cookies are engineered to release indelible dye on anyone non-Cy. Keep an eye out for any individuals with funny coloring around the mouth area and hands. Walking close to such individuals may result in your accidental demise. Cy is not know to be a very decriminating killer. Anything in a ten foot radius of identified offenders is considered collateral damage, perfectly acceptable loses.
