The perfect balance between poison and bone?

Recently acquring a few new items for me to have fun with :) I have thought about an idea of creating a hybrid, however, i'm trying to find the optimal level between poison and bone...oh and this isnt for pubby duels i'd think, since my gear choice:

Shako, p facet
Bramble Archon
HoTo, or Death's web? If i can get one that is :(
+2 pb darkforce UMed, or Humonc?
Arachnids
2xsojs/caster rings?
Trang gloves
Marrows :(

Skill distribution:
20 P Nova
10 P expl
10 P dagger
20 B spear
20 Teeth
1 BS
1 Bone armor
1 Bonewall
1 LR/Curses

Any extra skills go into bone spirit and poison synergy

Just curious, what damage will bone spirit have at level one?

A couple more questions, how effective would this build be if you don't have access to the rather fine equip you have listed and what would you go about leveling up first?

okay Ive never actually built a true hybrid, but my poisenmancer has bone spirit to back him up.

9 points(1 in every summen skill except skele mastary because marrowalk gives this

the rest in bone wall

this is a pvm setup for pvp i usually switch to

wizzy(15allres/7%fhr jewel)

an amu +2 nec 18%fcr +8 all res, +7% faster mana regen
a rare circlet +1nec 20%fcr all resi 12 +40life with shael in
frostburns
aracnid
enigma(without this I cannot duel, yet it spends most of its time on other chars lol)
cta 1bo gets put on him as well

not entirely sure of his stats here as I mostly play pvm with him and on my uni network i cant create/join any games :(

Nova gets better damage from synergies once you've put 10-12 points into it, and personally I'd use those extra into a bone synergy, or even a golem (clay for the slow effect).

Also sine Bone spells aren't effected by LR, i think I'd rely on items (trangs and facets) for the LR effects. saving you a bunch more points.

Yea I have, but you see, they focus on using enigma, while i'm going to be on foot most likely, with an archon bramble, so thats why im trying to find the optimal balance. Since I probably might use this build in CH, that's why I'm choosing spear over spirit, along with the fact that it's faster :)

good luck im really looking forward to your discovery...i myself have a hybrid based on hks's build with 10 into spear and 5 into spirit...i think thats sometihng like 2.8 spear and 2.9 spirit with the marrows bug of course...but since your gonna be in ch i would imagine the damage would be horrifically low...and anyway i do find that sometimes the spirit/spear damage just isnt enough. i dont know how this helps..but good luck again...cheers, mate :drink:

oh and i've also heard that if yu put 10 in pnova and focus more on the synergies you get more damage...not sure if its true tho.

hmm interesting build. Although my experience lie exclusively in bonemancers, it appears, at least to me, that the build you're suggesting is like 09 pvp necros. If thats the case, I'd focus more on poison nova, and forgo bone spear in favor of spirits.

The reason behind this is that spear, while fast and has decent range, really requires fast and careful aiming to be effective. Since you wont be teleporting, you're mainly looking for attacks that you can fire on the move. In this respect, I think spirit would be a better option. It has better range, it tracks, and even though its much slower, can turn invisible. And it does more damage. If the other person closes in, you can nova them. Finally I think a strong nova is definitely more effective close up than spears.

So with that in mind, I would place the 20 points in spirits rather than spear, and also buff up the synergies for poison nova, say 15 base rather than 10. With my suggestion, you would have a weaker teeth, but I think teeth only serves as a finishing move so it doesnt have to be super strong. In any case, I doubt you use teeth anyway close up, but rather nova.

I did think about that pallidum, but since it'll probably be team dueler, i wont be able to use spirit :( , then again, i could do a pubby run/walk build or use enigma in pubs, and switch to marrows for the extra bone, what do you think? and yea I'm kinda going for the revival of 09 type of necros :) Always loved the nova vs annoying sorcs, and now that ES sorcs are around.... ;)

If you are going to pub with enigma then I'd focus more on bone spells. Nova really puts you in a vulnerable position, especially against zons who can evade/dodge novas...so annoying.

Hrm if say I went fully synergized poison, and go 10/10 spirit/spear, I'd get a 5781-5953 poison nova, 2kish spirit, 1.6kish spear using marrows, finishing this build at lvl 79, any higher I could pump the spirit/spear

however if I were to go 20 spear, and only 10 pdagger

2496-2627 spear
2247-2412 spirit

also completed at 79

what about bone armor synergies? just saying cuz i find it helps 'a lot', especially in pub games, if it has high dmg absorb.

I walked down that path and had alot of fun with my poison/bone hybrid
I use him mostly for pvm but he does surprizingly well in pubby team duels

20 nova
20 xplosion
20 dagger

10 teeth
10 spear
5 spirit
1 wall
1 armor
33 synergy from marrows

1 in all curse to get LR (7 points total)

with that he is complete at lvl 89, -12 for quests = 77
So from there on out I put remaining into spear.

gear is similar to yours soulless.
pfacet shako/1 sojs, 1 caster ring/trang golves/homonc/arachnid/pfacet deaths web/enigma/marrows/storm circlet ammy.
he doesnt reach 75% cast is only problem unless i switch soj for another caster ring. I could switch to darkforce but they are hard to find...

But this is by far one of the most fun necromancers i have made in my diablo career :lol:
