View Full Version : Mage Damage?

I'm not sure if this has been investigated or not, but does anyone have a clue how much damage skeleton mages generally do?
Is it relative to their level and skill that they use (based on each element), or is it a set damage based on difficulty (normal, nm, hell)??
I'm pondering trying out an elemental necro just for kicks (mages, fire golem, corpse explosion, and lower resist), but I'm really concerned about the mages and how little damage they seem to do.
Anyone have any numbers or good information?
Thanks!

So far, I've used the numbers from arreat summit. I have no idea whether these are even close to correct, but I've never seen anything else...

I never knew there was numbers on there. What section did you find them in?

in my experience a gaggle of mages has difficulty taking anything down in hell even with lower resist. I suppose that the constant fire could cause damage but I seem to get hordes of psn mages... which are NOT as strong as the monster variant of the same mage.
Mages are weak... but I like them for the chill from cold mages and the regen stop of psn... I use them like artillary... they cause damage but it's the infantry that really gets the job done.

I found the skills page on Arreat - Thanks Myrakh!
Pea, I agree with you man. It really sucks that Skeleton Warriors are the only real good summon. I really want to make a Golemancer or Magemancer just to try somethign different, but there is no point when they can't hold up at all. :(
I like Mages. Think of them as moving Bone Armor that can do a bit of damage.

Well, and they at least get a bonus from Skeleton Mastery as far as damage goes. I suppose maxing them after RS, SM, and CE wouldn't be a half bad call considering they will be "synergized" somewhat.
mage have little hit point? no problem, use Skelly as tank!
You dont have skelly? no problem, use bone wall!!

Well, typical Summoners don't really use Bone Wall too much (as far as I know), but yeah...
Can do dat if you want...
