View Full Version : Ideal Thrower Gear (level 21?)

So I was fooling around with the dueler/pker thrower that Cleglaw_Himself has on his old accounts...

That guy is FUN and he works! I was thinking of maybe making one somewhere where there is a bigger LLD community, either east ladder or Europe ladder. (hardcore of course too)

So, what would his ideal gear look like? I was thinking:
Twitch w/ 15 max
deaths combo
sanders boots
a 3 socket barbarian helm with +Double throw, +throwing mastry, other good +skills with max dmg jewels.

Now, the weapon switches is where I'm not too sure.

I was thinking:
switch1: 2x amp dmg throwing spears
switch2: 30 max Bsod//awesome rare throwing spear or war javelin.

Charms: Sharp grands with small sus's

Some questions:
1. Best skills to look for on the helm?
2. IAS breakpoints for double throw and regular throw?
3. Will it work? It seems to work very well for pking, and still nicely for dueling. Earlier this season, I dueled an absolutly amazing level 15 (i think it was 15) thrower who almost beat my 27 paladin, he did about 350 per shot, every shot (single throw, not double, without amp)

extra skills in double throw only increase attack rating....

So you will want a helm that has +x to throwing mastery..

THese throwbarbs were all the rage until the mastery bug died and the pvp penalty was increased to 1/6. THrow got a little bonus from double swing now, but charge got a much bigger bonus so people pretty much moved to charge as the cookie-cutter pk build.

Obviously double throw still has potential for a skilled pk/dueler, so you should do fine. I would say double-throw all the way since single throw has pretty pathetic damage, double throw has a little more (if you use double swing synergy) and is way faster. Of course you will want a shield switch with a good throwing weapon, you have the right idea there, since there will be some situations where without blocking you are dead.... but you will probably want to keep your bad-*** weapon on your double-throw slot.

Thats one of the things I do like about throwers though...

In duels vs chargers, use 2x amp sticks with double throw, and a single strongest weapon with a shield on the other... if the opprotunity is there, toss off some amp ones, if not, or once it triggers, stronger one all the way. On the other hand, when pking, you can stick two strong weapons and just double throw those for max damage. I really like the versatility.

Yeah, I know what youre saying on the whole mastry bug thing, Though its not there anymore, with the level 21 one Ive been using on non-ladder, the damage is still up over 100 pvp for EACH WEAPON before amp OR critical....

hypothetically, with amp and 2 high critical rolls, I could be doing...
110x2=220x2=440 per hand, almost 900 per throw if they both hit and are both high rolls. Of course thats rare, but the damage potential IS there!

Why not CK boots?

The dex added more dmg than the stats from sanders, does it not?

At level 20+, I actually prefer sanders in almost every case.
They are MUCH cheaper, but thats sort of beside the point, as I think they are better regardless of the price.

Sanders gives the same overall number of stats as CK does, thereby making it more versatile, I can put the same number into dex (because I save 5 on str) and get equal damage as with CK's, OR I can dump those 5 into life, and get 20 more life.

Also, 100AR is VERY helpful on a llder//pker, as is 15% runwalk, the last 2 of which I feel outweigh the extra fire damage on the CK's.
