Cool, thanks. THat's what I heard but I wasn't completely sure. Is that actually a really good spot to Mf.. what i mean by that is... what kind of items can drop there?

Here's the Guide to the Pits. Happy reading.

btw drops are extremely rare in there, but if you are bored with mephisto's crap, this is good place to find something realy rare

pit = quality over quantity
mephi = quantity over quality
tho you can hit crappy patches running either :D

That's what I find ... but at least it's good xp up 'til clvl 85 or so and most builds shouldn't have too much trouble there.
i personally have had NO luck there :(

I hate it when you find things that are almost great in the pits. The other day I found a sup (11%) eth CB but with 2 sockets. Had this sword had 0 or 6 sockets it would be fairly valuable, but there's nothing you can do with 2 sockets!
My hybrid javazon kills everywhere quite effectively. I make a game and go run all over the place...
-pits
-shenk
-ancients way
-meph

-andy
-trav
-pindle
-diablo and baal when I feel like braving the burning souls and IM
Sometimes I'll just wander around because many of my best finds have dropped from random monsters nowhere in particular. Don't forget to run NM sometimes too. Your chances of finding certain items are increased there such as skill charms and certain uniques. One time found titans and tucs in the same nm meph run!
I have run the Pit a few times in the past week with my necromancer.. (just started up on ladder). I will agree - you don't find too many things there. But if you know what to look for, you can find some really nice stuff. For example, I just found a white Archon Plate with 522 defense! The very maximum is 524. I think it will sell for Um+.. Since Larzuk quest will give it 4os for COH, or the buyer can gamble around and try cube recipe for 3os for enigma.
I also found a 3os sacred targe with 65% enhanced damage and +101 AR. 65% is the max, so this makes it a perfect candidate for the Splendor runeword with a fanat zealot.
As far as uniques go though.. I haven't found more than 5 in maybe 15 pit runs :x

Hey uh.. as you can see i joined when i was a big barb fan, but i turned out making a lvl 80 blizz sorc and a lvl 82 venom-kicksin (anti-caster). anyways is there any cold immunes in the pit? i usually do andy runs with my sorc, also...is the pit large as in requiring a lot of tele-work. i hate to tele, my sorc is fairly low on health (540 or so...ugh) so teleing is when im weak. Im making either a strafezon or a javazon next, not really sure...soo....erm....off to go read some strats to decide, thanks
pits are the new cows. They're big, but there's no reason to be teleporting around. I hated pits on my sorc because there are cold and fire immunes.

Splendor is Eth Lum, so you have a socket too many unless you meant 2os

maybe he ment sanctuary but that really isnt fit for fana so idk
Btw if u want some elite socketed or non socketed items then going into the pit with no mf is the way to go.

I found Airocs needle, Baranars and Laying of hands in about 15 runs last night, but I've had several nights with nothing..It's just luck, but that is what is so addictive about this game.... :uhhuh:
Good luck in the pits!

For 100 runs that aint bad
In all the time I ran the pits and getting middle stuff, I do a tristram run and boom... Stormshield from one of those champion skellies :)
Don't forget the mausoleum in the burial grounds. It has the same monster level as the pit and a gold chest (but fewer champion packs)

I'm basically doing mixed runs to keep it interesting.
I usually do Hell Meph, then Trav, Pits, sometimes Mausoleum and sometimes Sewers.
Usually it's miss ... but sometimes you hit bigtime. On consecutive runs I picked up a Leviathan (unique Kraken Shell) and a WraithFlight. Then nothing ...
But the great thing about Pit runs is that you get an absolute ton of full rejuvs/experience/elite weapons/armors.
When i'm running low of rejuvs I do a Pit run. From the waypoint to finishing level 2 of the Pits it's not uncommon to get at least 6-7 full rejuvs and many times much more. The boss packs in the Tamoe Highlands drop usually 1-2 each time and I usually run into at least 5-6 or them. More if you take the circuitous route. The Pits usually give up 4-6. That's alot.
I had gotten a bit disgusted with my pit runs , I had not found anything of interest ever , and I did them often . Then , boom one day I get a perfect Executioner's Justice , a 1% off perfect Lightsaber and today I got a perfect die lightning facet . So .... I dunno . Really mixed results I guess , but as the above poster mentioned that's what makes it interesting .
Good luck :)

That Executioners justice looks cool, but realy nobody uses it.. so you can sell it for Akara :D (like me)
The thing I like about pits, that there are no much crap drops (Stupid sets like Iratha , Cathan, Berserker, also pathetic normal uniques). So if you see item written in golden letters, you feel sooo cool
Whats ure guys startegy in the pits, run to lvl 2 fast or kill All monsters in lvl 1 + 2 ?

kill em all,ALL I TELL YA KILL EM ALLL AAARRRGGG DIE FALLEN DIE!!!!
ahum :cheesy:
thats the point of the pit
since all the monster are lvl 85 and the bosses/champions even higher they can drop almost all the items in the game.
-jordy :king:
Okey thx.. I didnt know if i should just aim for the champions in lvl 2 .. but now I know
