I think only hydra bows and crusader bows come with 6 sockets. If you're on USWEST ladder i've got a 6 socket crusader if you're interested.

ah, thought so, thanks.
another question (yeah,), i know the normal->exceptional recipe only works on rares or uniques. if i put botd in a long war bow, THEN could i upgrade it to hydra?

you can't upgrade runewords, so no long>hydra.
Long Battle
Long Siege
Crusader
Long War
Gothic
Hydra
all get 6 sox's
just run the pit a few times to find a white hydra/crusader.

nope, upgrading only works and rares and uniques, not runewords. Anyway that would be a waste of runes, might as well get yourself a hydra or crusader. Btw they both have the same average damage and base speed but crusader has higher min for a little more consistency and also lower requirements.
If you want a BotD bow , plz don't get a hydra bow. Crusader will give you more dmg , because you can put more points in dex. The dmg on a BotD hydra or crusader will be the same ofcourse (average).

wow, one step ahead of my next question! i appreciate the help, (especially the tip about not wasting it on a hydra bow ;))
when you say, "run the pit" you do mean pit runs (the one in tamoe) right? because i've run them about 20 times and have not found a single hydra or crusader period, not to mention a white one.
are there any other places where there is a greater chance of getting them?
what are you running them in
I think they say to do Hell ones

Yeah i mean the Pits in the Tamoe Highland, other good places in my experience to get good whites are:
River of Flame - dropped a nice superior Eth BA for me yesterday :D
Hell Cows
And yes i mean run the pits (and the other areas) on Hell difficulty, and i also agree with crusader>hydra for botd for the reasons already listed.
I put together a Crusader BotD a couple days ago... Came out perfect kekeke. ^______________________^
You could always trade for the Crusader Bow as well, especially if you want a High ED% Sup one.
all right, i guess i'll keep trying. a crusader botd is definitely worth the effort :)
thanks for the help again

hmmm... i have a crusader and a hydra botd and i think the hydra kills faster. of course i didn't build my zon with the crusader in mind (Buriza actually) so i have lots of strength points that went to waste.
all things being equal, hydra botd > crusader botd
i prefer both to windforce :D
u can make botd in a bow?
wow i didnt know that
but imo, if u have the runes for botd, u should socket that bow with ed/ias jewels instead.. then get a good magical armor wit an extra useful mod (i.e whale, gives massive life) and has 4 os so u can add jewels in those as well. as a result, massive dmg and ias. i think that's what most bowzons are going for from what i've see online
but imo, if u have the runes for botd, u should socket that bow with ed/ias jewels instead..
Gaining 30% extra IAS in place of... 110-175% EDmg, +30 stats, Dual Leech, PMH, little other things? =[

not sure if i understood u but im thinking that u disagree wit me about botd in a bow..
6 socketed jewled ias/ed bows are mainly used in duels. wit maxed ias guided arrows is almost like strafe and wit a nockback mod and massive ed and poison dmg, those zons are godly
