View Full Version : Lag...

Lately I've noticed that while in baal games or really in games with more than just me, I've been getting alot of lag. So much that I'm scared that a single guy could kill me if it gets bad when I'm playing. I have a cable connection, road runner, and I didn't think lag should be this bad with this kind of connection. As of now my barb is just leeching mostly in baal games and the thing is, I can't see myself actually fighting minions when my barb levels while this lag is so bad. Also when I join games or exit games it takes FOREVER to get into the game/leave the game. Half the time the run is full by the time I type in the game name. I was just wondering if there are any minor things that I could do to decrease the lag/choppy gameplay. I thought it only got this bad on dial-up...

That wasn't very nice...
The truth hurts tho. I can smell it from here...
Wait, that's me.
ctlr alt delete and check your system preformance, if its at a high percent while d2 is running that could be the problem.
You could have a virus or some nasty spyware.

Similar to Minon's statement, it seems your resources are being occupied by other progs.
Also change the Video Option in D2 using 2D mode instead of 3D, it doesn't make much of a dif.
Check to see if u have the latest video drivers for your card, etc.
Run DEFRAG
Had serious issues last night myslef which ended up being a very boring evening of running various progs to clean out crap.
AdAware
Spybot
Those two do pretty good and are free services.
I alos have Roadrunner......you dont happen to be in the Indianapolis Indiana area do you?
BTW, I ran these progs then it didint help much, so I reset my Inet connection and then realized I should check for updates also. So after all that and running them again i was running much better.

In fact I am, I think.. lol. I switched to d2 mode and it seemed to get me out of games quicker but I'm not sure if it helped the lag much. I've also ran the spy sweeper. I'll try defraging as I'm not sure if I have done that in a while.
